Remember the apple pies from McDonalds bout' 20 years ago. I believe they were deep fried. They melted in your mouth. Than they changed them to a baked healthier version. Last I knew you could still get the original apple pies from the McDonalds in Chicago's McCormick place. Wish I knew if they were available anywhere else.

I guess I am a bit of a pastry snob. I really don't like the desserts at most restaurants fast food or other wise. I am a baker and can taste the extra added ingredients and preservatives and they really put me off. I can't stand that or the dryness of allot pastries that many people enjoy is intolerable to me. My husband and oldest daughter both tell me I have ruined them as they are the same way now lol!

Where the filling would be about the same temperature as molten lava, so you'd have to let them cool off for a few minutes+ before biting into them, or you would be :crybaby2: because you burned your mouth.....

I do remember the hot apple pies at McDonald's! I don't think I was ever aware that they were deep fried, but because everything at McDonald's used to be it makes sense. I do remember, however, how hot they were inside and that you could get a good blister in your mouth if you didn't let them cool off first! Now that fast food restaurants are trying to include healthier choices, I guess it makes sense that they are now baked. I'll have to try one some time and see if I can tell the difference. Dessert at McDonald's isn't something I do often. It was probably been more than 10 years asince I have had an apple pie at McDonald's.
