Title: How different do you think the Olympics would be...
Post by: demaina on August 13, 2012, 01:29:10 am
If we didn't know who was playing for what country?

I've always wondered, with some of the issues that have happened in the past, why they don't have the Olympians just play anonymously.  Obviously it would be difficult to start now, since some are well known faces of certain countries, but do you think it would change your own cheering?

I know, when I watch gymnastics, I feel bad when someone falls off the beam or hops on their landing or steps out of bounds.  More cause I know they worked really hard to get there and one mistake like that could take away a medal cause they had a bad day.

I think it would help judging wise, preventing people from judging based on personal beliefs.  Cheering wise, it would be hard though cause you wouldn't know which person would lead to a medal for your country.

that is how i watch the Olympics. I really do not know who the players are. not knowing what country the teams were playing for would be down right boring.
