I'm starting cosmetology school soon and I've been thinking that I should do something different and exciting to my hair for when I start. I was thinking of getting extensions and dying my hair "Atomic Turquoise" from Manic Panic. I was blonde once, had obnoxious red once, and other than that, its always been black.
Has anyone else here dyed their hair bright colors?
Any advice?
Also, any suggestions on interesting colors/combinations/placement?
Thanks!

One of the jobs I have right now won't let us have "interesting hair colors"... :( BUT...
if I could...
I would LUV to have the tips of my hair (the back, bottom 6-7 inches) a bright pink. I saw a hair stylist's hair done like that and it looks so cool.

Keep the black, (overtly), dye streaks in glow-in-the-dark cobalt-blue, (covertly).

I just colored my hair to a light blonde, I have always been blonde but I notice my roots trying to change to dark blonde or light brown and that is just not my color, I have a loght compled all most to be a elbyno if you know what I mean. I use to buy my hair color at wal-mart but I sell avon and they are nowing proviiding sevral colors from blonde al the way to bladk.

if i wasn't 25 and didn't have to look like a responsible
adult in the workplace, i'd totally dye my hair a bold
lavender. i have naturally red hair, so of course i'd have
to bleach the heck of out of it to get a good, clean slate.
i've seen people do it and pull it off rather well.
it irks me when people dye their hair crazy colors but
then don't keep up on it... i think it can look cool when
done well.

Yeah, if I wasn't so old I would totally want crazy pink or blue stripes.

You're NEVER too old! My grandmother just retired and as a bold sign of being out of the work force she dyed her hair blue. :)

I'm 25 as well, but the profession I chose is lenient as far as appearance goes, (I'm a bartender). I just never really got into the crazy colors because black is so simple and goes with everything. I can't stand when someone has really nice and bright colored hair, but they have 2 inches of their natural roots coming out. >_< I want to do it properly and I'm definitely going to keep up on it.

One of my original plans was to put a cobalt-blue over the black. lol

I think black with dark purple/magenta streaks looks really good without being obnoxious. You'llhave to post your pc when it's done.
