do you donate your money to charity? if so, why do you do it? if not, why don't you?
-
I donate as I think this is the right thing and there are certain groups I have a personal connection with as I had/have family affected by a certain condition and/or they were helped by the organization in the past.
-
I do donate. I think it's important and besides it makes me feel good. I don't have a lot of money, but it doesn't take a lot to donate to a few charities, etc, every year. I also believe that what goes around comes around. Put out good to the world and you will get it back. :peace:

I try and send something to paralyzed vets mostly because I feel these are soldiers who put their life on the line to keep this nation free, at the cost of losing limbs, etc.
-
I donate whenever I can - money, clothes, food because I believe every little thing helps, so I try my best :)
-
I do when I can. It may not be much but I don't have much myself. We almost always put at least a little change in the donation thing at Walmart for Children's Miracle Network as well as donate clothing and such to places/people.

I've always been a big believer in donating to charity. Whether it's official charities or unofficially by helping out my neighbors and friends. I don't really donate to make myself "feel" good, I do it because it's simply in my nature. It doesn't occur to me not to donate. I have a bigger problem saying "no" to donating when I simply don't have the means.
There are some many things I'd like to help out to make the world a better place, but I know I would never be able to do them all on my own, but I do have money or things I no longer need that I can send to organizations who do have the resources.

I donate to Planned Parenthood when I can. They really helped me when I didn't have insurance getting birth control and I appreciate their focus on women choice and health.
-
I donate whenever I can but unfortunately I need the money most of the time for myself. My kids are very active and expensive!
-
I try to donate when I have the money. I also donate clothes. A charity I like to donate to is Sick Kids hospital in Toronto. and a few others also.
-
I donate What I can when I can whether it be money, clothes, household goods, etc., but times are tough. I know things are tougher for others tho.
-

Yes, I donate whenever I could.

I donate to certain charities that near and dear to my heart. Plus to the goodwill and others. I worked with the united way for several years, and found it really made a differance to other people.Mostly in the battered womens section and with the madd charity. This was due mostly to a drunk driver that ran into my youngest son (18) and his cousin and the two girls with him. Killing all four including himself. They wouldn't let me serve on jury because of it. This was for dwi and dui's I wonder why. Even if this had not happened i still would have helped out. Everyone should pick a charity and help out it is very rewarding.

Yes, I do donate. I dont throw things away if I see some one else can get more usage out of it. I just get tired of looking at some things, the majority of the time it dont be anything wrong with it. So i just give it away to someone that may need it. I donate clothes to a church down the street from where I stay. I like donating, it makes me feel good..... :angel11:

I have heard that a certain kharma comes with donating a percentage of everything that you make. I hadn't given this much weight until two years ago. I was having a really tough time, working two jobs, one of which really took a physical toll from my body. We were invited to go to a charity benefit and were so moved by the purpose of this benefit that my wife and I pitched a rather large sum of money, compared to what we had at the time. Within one week i was offered a well-paying job that led to other less-exacting positions.

I donate money to family members in need first and foremost. I feel that family should always come first! I donate my clothes and unwanted items as well. What family members don't want I give to a the Christian Women's Fellowship in my neighborhood. They run a thrift store and all proceeds go to their missions.

Yes. Even charity can get you yelled at in this political climate. Every year I put on a show that raises a decent amount of money. We give it to Komen for the Cure. I got hate mail on facebook/twitter by some people because someone at the foundation said something about planned parenthood.
-
I used to donate quite a bit to charity but recently I haven't had the money to do so. I now only support a very few charities but I hope in the future to donate to more to do with children and animals.
-
I donate what I can Wen I can. It just the right thing to do.
-
I do. I think we have a responsibility to share our blessings w/ others.
-
I donate money monthly and I do it because my mother encouraged me about how this can bless the ones that the outreach involves. Giving is a blessing and it gives back to you in various ways as well. My mother donated food to a place I lived at when I received care for medical health needs as well. It's always a blessing to give.

Yes, there are organizations that are trying to find cures for diseases and help people be the best they can be. They cannot do it alone, they need our donations, no matter how small in order to make progress in research. If everyone gave just one dollar, what a difference that would make in so many lives.

I don't donate money because I'm not sure where it's going. I do donate a lot of toys and clothes
-
I love to donate clothes and money, but I would like to do more like donating my time to the soup kitchen.
-
I donate to my church because everything I have is from God, so I give back to his work.
-
I used to donate I have not in a couple of years
-
I used to donate monthly to a few charities when I had a steady income. Now, being unemployed, I can only donate food, clothing and time. :sad1:
-
Yes. I love to donate and help those who are in need. The reason I do it is I know theirs someone out there in need and I love to help.
-
I haven't donated any money lately because I don't have a job and need all the money I have right now. But I do donate old clothes and stuff occasionally.
-
The only time that I usually donate is at restaurants when they have the donate your change things. I do that all the time when I eat at Firehouse Subs and right now when I go to Chilis I do the same.
-
 yes i do...and now i even join in and do walks, bike or in the future run for charities...in the past i would give money to red cross etc etc
-
I do donate stuff...only to get rid of something I dont want anymore and too much of a hassle to sell it. And to get the tax deduction.
-
Mostly just tithe to church, but have to go donate plasma to get extra money sometimes, but it is a nice feeling to be able to help save lives in the process
-
I am too busy deciding if I should pay utility bills or pay to go see a doctor. As much as I would like to, the money just isn't there. As far donating things, I used but stopped. I stopped simply because the charity didn't want the stuff. It wasn't new but at the same time it wasn't crap, either. One guy told me we just want new in the package stuff now or money.
I remember when it was you donated stuff to a charity, they taught people to restore it or fix it and got them back in the job market.
Those days are long gone, I guess. Now it seems it's all about the money.
-
Yes I donate. Weekly to our church; when we have food drives, I round up on our City bill, and I donate to the YMCA when we have clothes and household items we no longer want/need.
-
we donate to the veteran's association, and to the red cross when we have the money. unfortunately we have times where we can barely pay our own bills, much less others :(
-
I will not donate cash or even goods to be distributed by a charity. I have dealt personally with "charitable" organizations in the past and personally seen donations being loaded into the vehicles of staff, never to be seen by those for whom they were intended. If you feel the need to donate, do so, but insist on handing out the goods yourself so that you know who is really benefitting from them. You could go to a shelter and serve a meal with a group, or hand out hygiene products to thoin homeless camps. Just never go alone. Some needy people have untreated mental health issues and could become violent.
-
I do what I can, use to be more. Now it is mostly gently used things. Oh whenever I get buy one, get one free I will put those aside to give to charities near the holidays.

I donate whenever I can!
