I was going to switch my cell phone company to Republic wireless because they allow you to use wifi to make calls and use data. Plus it was only $20 per month. Then, I saw that someone else gave up on Republic wireless and went with Ting. I checked their site out. It looks really cool. You only get billed for what you use. It's a la carte. I can choose a certain amount of data, voice, and texting that I think I will use. If I use more, they bump me up to the next tier. If I don't use it, they bump me down to the lower tier and credit me on the next bill. So, if I used nothing or it was all on wifi, they'd bill me a mere $6 per month. If I use their service the way I do now at Verizon, I'd pay $12 instead of the $ 45 that I'm paying at Verizon. They'll port my number, too!
My phone arrives this week. So I'm going to try it out. I can let you know how it goes. But, I'd like to know if anyone else here has used Ting yet.
