Im looking for a good puppy,to have around kids, not to big,do you all have any recommendations,i was thinking about a boston terrier.
-
Please adopt when you're getting a dog. :) Good luck!
-
i too hope you adopt a dog both of our fur babies came from the rescue here --we fostered them first and then after we saw they were what we wanted we adopted--visit your local shelter and see if you can foster first to make sure its a good fit for you and the dog

If you can see my picture, that is my boston. We love him dearly even through and he is the perfect fit for us. He is a very silly dog.Bostons have a high activity level and love people of all ages and sizes . They are very intelligent but also a little stubborn. My dog does not get along well with other animals, if that is a concern. He also tends to bark (a lo)
Of course, I would reccomend a boston in a heart beat but there are many breeds that are well suited to children. Please research different choices so you choose the right breed for your family.

all puppy are cute...chihuahua is one type of small dogs

Theres a sight for dogs on deathrow. If you inbox me I can try to send you the link. I think its way better to save a dog in need. Just my opinion.
-Jesus loves you.

Best of luck with your new puppy. Of course make sure you fill us in on the new addition to your family.

In my opinion, the best puppy i have ever had was a Mini dapple Daschund she is sooo playfuly and the kiddos love her =) The Regular doxies are mean but the mini's are great =)

Pembroke Welsh Corgis and Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are both good with kids. Shelter dogs are great if you get a good one but be sure before you adopt.

A French Bulldog is a great puppie to have around kids and they dont get that big. They are veryy friendly :)

All three of our dogs are rescue pups. Highly recommend a shelter as a place to go. Two of our dogs are bigger, couldn't tell you what breed exactly, except one seems to be a lab mix. Might not be a bad idea to take the kids along; chances are they and the pup will "find" one another. ;)

AGREE. I see too many nice dogs and cats that are on the "kill lists" at the shelters and it makes me mad to see so many good animals being killed because no one wanted them, or didn't take care of them.
Definitely adopt and support your local animal shelters.

Adopting a mixed breed is the way to go. Perhaps one that will grow with your kids, maybe with some lab in the mix. Labradors are very friendly and have "soft mouths". I had a couple lab crosses and they were great, very loyal. :dog:

I love Jack Russells, they like to be a lap dog, they will get under the covers and sleep (if you like that) however, I disagree with the post about Labs....I had a lab and their coat was smelly, wasn't that great of a pet, and it definitely would be on the bigger size. Just saying.
