Title: not looking forward to falling behind
Post by: amy122185 on October 14, 2012, 04:47:08 pm
its almost that time of year again when we set the clocks back and it becomes darker earlier. I love longer days going to miss the sunsets at 7:42 :-[

I will be happy to get that one time extra hour of sleep.
Of course it throws off the internal biological clock.

amy122185~ I agree, psychologically, I feel like I can get more things done or have more time when the day is longer. When the night comes to quickly, I get depressed cause I feel like I'm running out of time to do or get anything down. I do like the extra sleep but not the short days. I know that this was created cause it was a way for farmers to set harvest time but why inflict everyone w/this? This fall back or spring forward really is a downer for people who have what is called seasonal depression. When the sun isn't up long enough this causes sever depression for those who have seasonal blues. Yap, I've have a mild case or maybe cause I take depression pills it's not as bad as when I was younger & didn't know why during this time I felt like, I was dying until spring sprang back. :peace:

I agree with you in the fact that I do not enjoy the time change.  I enjoy haveing longer afternoon hours.

I love the extra hour of sleep, but hate the shorter days.  I'm a night person without a car and it's hard enough to get things done now.

You don't actually get to sleep in an extra hour since you're going to sleep an hour earlier. I want summer back because I'm over it being dark at 7 when I'm trying to do things

It's really strange but it's part of nature. The extra one hour of sleep also does the body good...

I love the daylight saviings time when we can fall back and get an extra hour of sleep because I have sleep problems, but I have trouble with the spring forward time of the year and losing that hour of sleep for the same reason. It's hard for me to adjust at first. I probably wouldn't have a daylight savings time at all if it was me, but I guess they found it necessary for whatever reason. I don't really see the need for it. I guess it's ok, but I wonder why it's needed sometimes.

Thats the only part of the fall/winter season that I do not like.   Here in N.C.  it seems to get dark around 4:30 in the evening.  I like it much better in the summer when it doesn't get dark to around 9pm....

This daylight savings thing is totally new to me. It's been explained why it is happening, but it still does not make sense to me. I am used to going with the flow (nature wise) and in winter I knew that the days are shorter and I had to get up in the dark and come home from work in the dark and the other way around in summer. Yikes, still trying to figure out this thing....... :BangHead:

Whether anyone look forward to it or not, we still have to adapt to the universal laws of nature. At least everyone will have one extra hour of sleep.

I wish we remained on the same time all year but I will be glad to get started earlier in the morning.  I just don't like daylight saving time.

I am not looking forward to falling behind either. I wonder where to move to escape the whole getting darker earlier and winter thing.

I said okay you think you are evil enjoy the sunset or even earlier and not interfere with everything else is going on around you at that time a day. So just enjoy it is what life is all about. What I require heavenly father push you here on earth so you can enjoy life and learn to be like him!

I have only been in Arizona for 3 years, but I absolutely love the fact there is no time change. I have always resisted the time change and hate it with a passion.

I second that. I hate it when we have to turn the clock back. I wish it could stay spring all year round. The weather is perfect and its like late. Nice!!!

I dont like it either.. less daylight :( I'm a college student currently taking some evening classes, so I am not looking forward to the darker nights walking back to my apartment. I do like the fact that we get an extra hour though!

One extra hour of sleep doesn't make up for it being dark so early every night.  Depressing.

I kinda disagree.  I actually love it cause I seem to function better at night (much to my parents dismay).  Plus, if I see it getting darker, I tend to work harder cause I know I'll need to go to bed soon.  That alone tends to help me accomplish things.

I prefer the falling behind to the srpinging ahead.

The extra hour is nice but I hate that is gets dark so early.

I work night work so when we fall behind I go to work in the dark
and come home in the dark.

I have to admit I like fall back rather than spring forward. It gets dark earlier but it also give me more time on the weekend and feels like sleeping in for a bit.

changing times is ok but it sucks when you live in one timezone and 10 minutes down the road you work in another

I agree with everyone who hates it.
You can all live with me in Arizona. We don't change. I have a small one bedroom apartment but I think we can all fit.

The only trouble with this is, that I am always on Mountain Standrad Time. So half of the year, I am on the same time as my parents who live on the west coast and half of the year, I am on the same time as my brother who lives in Montana.

It gives me a headache.

I am so sick of the dark mornings and dark evenings already--and it's not even winter yet!  I don't know if DST will help or not!
