Ugh, yeah! I hate that. It happens to me with colds all the time. Unfortunately, I have an awful immune system and I'm always getting colds anyway. Sorry to hear about your flu -- back in 2009 I had the flu in February and the stomach flu in March or April. It was awful. I hope it goes away for good soon!

Yea! I know what you mean. I try to pump myself with vitamin C if I feel something coming on. It normally works for me, just about 2 weeks ago I was feeling blah, Like I was coming down with something and I pumped my self with about 2000 mg a day of C for about 2 days and I felt better.

Just looked out for...

chills, fever, aches, and tiredness.

The common symptoms of the flu include:
•Fever (100°F or greater)
•Headache
•Muscle aches
•Chills
•Tiredness
•Cough
•Runny nose (more common in children than adults)
and one last inportant thing you need to know Symptoms generally appear 1 to 4 days after exposure to the virus

We have all had one this fall that seems to last for weeks.  I've had days where I have gone from feeling pretty good to horrible and back again several times in one day. My son added a bad cough and finally ended up with pneumonia.  We have had lots of whooping cough in WA State. Feel better soon.

It sure is a bummer to be sick. I just got over pneumonia myself. I suffered with it for two weeks before I was forced to go to ER because my lung hurt so bad I could not even lay down.

When you are sick you have to maintain warmth so you don't depress your immune system. You feel you are recovered and you go out and expose yourself to cold temperatures, then you will have a resurgence of the symptoms.

Get a flu shot, it will keep you from getting most of it. My grandma always said 7 days comming and 7 days going, pretty much true.

Hope you feel better soon. Recently had the same thing happen with my kids, with both of them falling sick one after the other, and just when I thought it was over, the infection came back. Caring for sick kids is very tiring.

This just recently happened to me. My mother-in-law was very sick, but she didn't tell her son, who decided to bring our daughter over to see her, which in turn, got our daughter sick, then my husband got sick, and then I got sick!!!! After a week, I thought I had it licked, but then the coughing began again, and the headaches, and the sinuses clogged and drained-AGAIN!!!.  Luckily, I received some Airborne stuff from my friend, and about a week after it came back, It was gone just as fast. Coincidentally, out of the three of us, our daughter was the happiest person with the flu IN THE WORLD. She made me laugh everyday I felt horrible, even though she was coughing and had a runny nose, ect. When all else fails, daughters really are the best medicine!!!

Yep that happens to me most of the time. I think that when you think you are better you end up pushing yourself too hard and your body has a relapse. I need to learn from the past but somehow I usually end up doing this to myself. It is hard when I can't get paid sick or vacation leave so my paycheck is significantly less if I don't go to work.

What I have found out over the years is that your body actually needs 3 days of complete rest and then most of the time, you will recover from a cold. I have always tried to get to Friday to begin my 3 day period but that doesn't always happen. And I mean complete rest. Not doing a thing but taking medication and being in a prone position!  :)

I think that when you KNOW you're sick, you take precautions-- you drink fluids, eat better, take vitamins or Emergen-C, etc. The second people start to feel better, they toss all that aside because they want to go back to their normal routines, but viruses aren't necessarily dead on the day you start to feel better! Gotta keep up that healthy routine for at least a few more days or else your immune system relapses and you just get sick again!

Luckily, I am one of the few people that barely ever falls ill. Maybe I will have a little cold here and there once every 2 years, or have a headache occasionally, but other than that, I am just lucky and some of my friends think I've done some kind of magic spell to never get sick....hahaha!!  :P
No, I just don't. I like to think it is because I like to take very good care of myself. Being vegan, drinking lots and lots of water, eating fruits and vegetables and exercising everyday is a huge benefactor I think.
Hope you get to feeling better and Good Luck!!

yeah, I get that. it gives a false sense of hope... I actually had something similar happen to me recently. I sprained my thumb a week or two ago, and thought it got better the other day. but then just last night, I felt the pain coming back and had to ice it again :- seriously hate it.

The flu shot does not contain a live virus.  It's dead.  Flu vaccines (the flu shot and the nasal-spray flu vaccine (LAIV)) cause antibodies to develop in the body about two weeks after vaccination. These antibodies provide protection against infection with the viruses that are in the vaccine.

The seasonal flu vaccine protects against three influenza viruses that research indicates will be most common during the upcoming season. Three kinds of influenza viruses commonly circulate among people today: influenza B viruses, influenza A (H1N1) viruses, and influenza A (H3N2) viruses. Each year, one flu virus of each kind is used to produce seasonal influenza vaccine.
