Title: Hurricane Sandy
Post by: Gerianne on November 02, 2012, 06:19:10 am
I saw a photo of NYC with the hurricane swirl above the Statue of Liberty.
Nature is powerful and beautiful at the same time.

There have been many hurricanes hit the Northeast the past many years.
When I lived in Norfolk, Virginia, I heard stories of a hurricane in the '60s that "created" a mass of land; it became "Willoughby Spit".
Houses were built there.

there may have been hurricanes to hit the northeast but according to my mom and aunt ( who lives in New Jersey) my mom down south now they don't recall a storm this bad since the fifties.

I have been looking at all the pictures of damage and i can't believe how bad it all looks.  I can't imagine living there and going through that.  My heart goes out to all of those affected.

That photo has been floating all over Facebook. It is interesting, but unfortunately it's not real.
