I watch tv and read the Bible ive started to at night and it helps me to sleep

Sometimes listening to music helps me sleep, and sometimes just being quiet and thinking helps. I need to have a more consistent sleep time because I think that would help during times I can't get to sleep.

I try and watch a boring show like 7th heaven or Grey's anatomy and i pass right out
-
Not too many things, I just try to think about the fact that I have to wake up early the next morning..

I am a chronic insomniac. Sometimes it helps me to put on a tv show or movie that I have absolutely no interest in watching. Somehow it allows my thoughts to wander as they need to in order for me to fall asleep while the background sounds of the tv lull my brain. It's hard to explain but it works.

Drink hot coco and take a warm shower
-
Take a sleeping pill and watch something boring.
-
Watching TV or reading before bedtime helps me to sleep.

The Tv is a must in order for me to fall asleep. However, I must put the TV on sleep to shutoff in about anhour or I wake up again! :peace:

Having kids. They're also the reason I don't get as much as I'd like.
-
:) I don't eat a lot before going to bed.

Reading an insurance policy...

my recent work schedulehas turned my sleep time completely. I found that the new Zzzquil works wonders for me! either that or any thing on national geo channel, most narrators voices are so relaxing
-
I have sleep issues so for me I have to be really tired to get any sleep. I just lie down in my bedroom with nothing on (no tv, light, nothing) and try to go to sleep.
Another member mentioned Melatonin helping with sleep. I think I will try that eventually and see if it works.

i think eating before i go to bed helps me sleep

I always have a fan running up by the bed, and always end the night in prayers!!
-
If I lie in bed and try to make myself stay wide awake, I usually fall right to sleep. I think my body just wants to the opposite of what my minds wants
-
A well executed and rightly placed smack with a ball pein hammer over the head. ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
I thankfully do not get insomnia that much anymore. I started going to bed a little earlier, that helps a lot.
-
I like to read. I read scripture passages to my kids so they'll calm down and go to sleep- when they go to sleep, I can, too. I also like to write down anything that I need to remember the next day so that it doesn't wake me up- thinking that I'll forget.
-
Melatonin has helped me a lot. Had taken prescription and non-prescription sleep aids, but the herbal supplement works as well as anything for me.
-
I usually don't have a problem falling asleep but if I do I get up and drink a glass of milk.
-
Reading or watching TV or a DVD always put me to sleep, not that I stay asleep. LOL
-
I put on some music from the "Great American Songbook" and set the sleep timer on one hour.
-

I've had chronic insomnia for over 20 years and so now I take Tamazepam and have been for quite awhile. Would like to get off of it though. :peace:
-
Since I have allergies I usually take an allergy pill which helps me breathe, and also is the type that makes me drowsy.
-
I always just keep the TV on, I like the dim light and the sound from it keeps my brain preoccupied from other things so I can sleep. I tried music but I just cannot do music because every time I try I end up doing bed karaoke all night, haha.
-
I'm with the sleeping pill response. I also watch a little tv (nothing intense).
-
If I watch something I've already seen it can help me fall asleep. Or I will get up and do something cause then my body gets more tired. For me, a nice warm shower can help my relax though I know some people who use a shower to wake themselves up, so that might not be for everyone.

A hard day at work usually does the trick.
-
Sometimes, when I'm having trouble sleeping, I'll draw a nice warm bubble bath and soak for a few minutes with a glass of wine...then it's off to dreamland!
-
i can usually watch futurama and it'll put me to sleep pretty quick. or i'll just fill my belly w/ some warm food
-
nothing really but maybe reading an awfully boring book but nothing else really unless i am super tired nothing will help me sleep

We both live with Chronic Pain that we received from a car accident few years back..(08).. So we are on some pretty heavy drugs for pain.. which normally put us a sleep for a few hours every night..

I use a fan on low speed it helps me sleep. I don't sleep very good wake up to many time during the night.
-
Normally I am asleep within moments of lying down. On the rare occasion that I can't sleep I find that 3mgs. of Melatonin works very well and as long as I don't take it too late, there are no groggy after effects.
-
Usually watch TV and keep the fan on.
-
Valarien root or melatonin both good natural options that work very well for me !!! I expecially like valarian root as it worked very well

I usually put on a dvd of Bones. I've seen them so many times I know the names to a lot of the episodes. That way it's not distracting, but if I really can't sleep then I have something to keep my mind occupied rather than dwelling on the fact that I can't sleep (which just keeps me awake longer). The best part is that one of my cats knows exactly what Bones is and plops down at the end of the bed to watch as soon as he hears the theme music. He's the biggest TV junkie in the house!
