Title: Who like to have a clean home at all times? I do
Post by: lackeyk on November 13, 2012, 12:15:16 pm: To keep my apartment clean I always Clean my dish everytime I used one. This will help you READ THIS!!!!

If you use a premoistened cloth to wipe your face, swipe the sink bowl and faucet handles with it, too. Or use a washcloth, paper towel, or a product like Windex Glass and Surface Wipes, which don’t leave streaks on chrome or mirror.

Even if they’re clean, a jumble of dish towels on the counter can look messy. Take a few moments to fold or hang them

Post by: batmobile on November 13, 2012, 12:24:05 pm: ok...great advice for lazy people...but if your a germ-a-phob, or have bad ocd you might do things a different way...like use seperate rags for cleaning or something...what about clutter and organization? thats what people really need to hear..i would love advice, so i dont get anxiety and wanna scream...lol :thumbsup:ty

My wife clleans the house before the cleaning people come over! Two hours of doing laundry, cleaning toilets, and dusting before the house cleaner gets there...really?!? My mother starts to pick up imaginary crumbs two days after we come to visit for a three day visit. I can't stand going to her house any more. This behavior makes myself, family and other guests feel unwelcome. I pick up as I go along. If I am in the kitchen I put the dishes away (kid's dishes). I always clean up after myself.

After clean everyone else house I didn't feel like coming home and having to clean my own house. Now that I am not work it is hard for me to get my house back to the way it was 17 years ago. I feel like I have failed my family by not have a clean house. :-[

I can't get comfortable when there's junk all around, I've always been like this; I use to clean the heck out of my mother's place when I was as young as 10 and 11 years old.

Post by: sak4kat on November 19, 2012, 10:21:18 am: I like to have a clean house all the time. But as stated above with 3 kids easier said than done. When all 3 of my kids had there own rooms yeah there stuff was all in it's own sanctuary but the play room was always needing just as much tidying as there rooms. Since we've downsized and gotten rid of so much stuff they didn't need everything seems to be that much more easy to keep up with. It helps now that they are older and can contribute to real organization and cleaning.

So people have clean homes that are a little cluttered and lived in look and then some want a home that is spotless with nothing out and it looks like a showcase at all times. Me, I really like a lived in look but I want it to be clean.

I go to her house and it is a DISASTER, eveything every were. When I go visit I try cleaning up, but its so overwhelmy that you don't know were to begin. You don't know were are the clean clothes or the dirty one. The trash or the floor. it's bad I don't know how she lives like that. I try talking to her, but it goes in one ear and out the other. :BangHead:

I had my room all clean for almost a year and then we had to do a massive clean up of one of the closets and all the extra crap went into my room, leaving me a big mess that I haven't had time to clean up yet. It's really frustrating cause I don't know where to puts things most of the time and the fact that my room is so small makes it even more difficult to keep all the things I want in my room in there.

Also, my parents tend to get frustrated with all the dishes, though none of them are mine. I've been told countless times to clean my dishes despite the fact I always clean my dishes. Makes me so frustrated when I'm the one who's accused when I'm not responsible. Urgh.

The little things like beds, dishes and laundry got done every day, but I just didn't have time for anything else. Now that I'm home and the kids are older, it's a lot easier. I've got a routine and I stick with it, and it keeps the place looking nice.

Keeping my huge apartment clean is quite a chore, compared to the much smaller apartment we lived in before. I take pride in keeping a clean home. You never know when a guest may show up! :thumbsup:

Too bad we don't have a dishwasher at my house like we did when we stayed in an apartment. Someday, I will invest in one. We still keep the house up though. I myself especially consistently keep the bathroom clean. Disinfectant wipes are a must with my mother and I.

Post by: PGS28 on November 22, 2012, 06:13:51 am: If the kids are old enough to walk then they are old enough to put toys in the toy bin, trash in the can, take laundry from the dryer, etc. Creating an organization schedule that's simple and easy to follow is key to maintaintaining a clean home with kids. Teach them as young as possible and implement rewards and disciplinary action.

Also, reduce clutter as much as possible; throw/give away things you KNOW you aren't going to use.

Finally, look into ways to practice better time management to include not only cleaning time, but time for yourself- when you are taken care of you are better able to take care of everything else.

Every chance I get I make sure everything in the house is nice and clean because you never know who might stop by to visit. I like for things to be neat and organized...not clutter all up.

If you have kids, there is always going to be some clutter (toys) around, But the house is clean, I clean one room a day to make sure no one room gets neglected for too long. Kitchen and living room also get a little wipe down pick ups daily.

I just mostly need to put my clothes and other stuff away. I usually leave my laundry in the recliner and I will get to them later but, I haven't yet. Maybe, I will do something about it since Im on a 4 day weekend now.

I think cleanliness creates a peaceful and relaxing home. I find that a few hours a day devoted to keeping things clean dusted and in order is lovely. I do the heavy cleaning one day a week on Saturday and things stay in order that way. :)

I need help and I can't afford to hire anyone to help and my husband really does try but he has to do everything as it is. My sister is going to come over and help me catch up on my Laundry. My husband doesn't do a very good job with laundry and the bathroom. So I have to live with it or find someone who will do it for me and isn't that exspensive.
