so what do you guys think on the subject of the world ending on the 21st of december?

I really don't think that it is going to be happening. I mean seriously, if the world was going to end when a calendar ended, it would have already ended several times. So the Mayan calendar is a lot longer than the Roman calendar, I still think that calendars are cyclic.

Personally I don't think the world is going to end then but then only God knows what his plans are :dontknow:

The only thing that would happen is that the number of books talking about why the world didn't end on December 21'st 2012 being released each month would start to exceed the number of books talking about why the world will end on December 21'st 2012.

I don't believe it, but my family is having a huge get together we figured it was a good excuse to have a party with the ones you loved if the world ended. It has actually been a fun way to do the holidays this year. One big party instead of several. We might be starting a new tradition.

Same old story we've been hearing for the world to end in the last couple of years.

It would be at least somewhat believable if it weren't for the fact that 'they' say the polarity of the poles will flip and shoot us all off the planet!! Get real. The polarity has shifted before and it is a gradual process. Anyway, if it does happen and we all fly off into space we probably won't feel a thing nor have a moment to regret anything. I'm still planning my Christmas vacation that starts on Dec 22nd.

i don't think that the world is going to end either --i also agree that only God knows when he will end the world--i did hear something funny on the news the other night --some man said he had done alot of christmas shopping and if the world did end at least he wouldn't have to pay for all those presents!!!lol guess he maxed out his credit cards !!

This is a big thing and I have been researching a bit but not diligently cuz I don't feel it will really end then either! So it really isn't so important to pour myself into like that, lol I feel we should all be ready at every second as we never know! This has nothing to do with what anyone expect to happen after death it just something that lays heavy on my heart as I wish for everyone to be most happy with what they a have done in their life before that time comes, no matter how little they feel it is! For some it is just enough ;) New to posting and I don't want to step on any toes, just posting my opinion and I respect anyone's on idea on this! We all have our own mind. Thank goodness right lol Hope to talk with many of you often!

I am thinking that if there was some entrepenurial type person out there they should be making and selling the new and improved mayan calendar. Has survied more end of the world days than I want to remeber.

No one knows when the world will end except God. However; we are living in the last days according to the scriptures so we do need to be ready, it could happen tomorrow even for all we know. My point is NOBODY KNOWS!!!

I'm certainly not going to worry about it. I think the Mayans just gave up on their calendar because it was so far in the future for them.

Maybe the world as we know it will end, like those poor folk on the East Coast with the flooding, etc. It's not long to wait before we know for sure. I agree with a previous member. We don't know when our time is up, so make the best of each day. :dontknow:

I am saddened by the serious lack of intellectual prowess of those who believe this end of Mayan calendar as the end of the world. It's really sad to me what people will believe based on any lack of rationale. Harold Camping (sp?) was dead wrong about it last year and those who have this silly interpretations of the Mayan culture will be wrong as well.

I think it is a lot of hype, just like Y2K. Nothing is going to happen.

How many times have we heard this only god knows when it will happen. People need to stop worrying everytime some starts talking about the world ending.

everyone has been asking me that for some reason. why do people believe the world is actually going to end? i honestly believe everyone is wasting there time worrying for nothing.

I have survived everything else, so I think I will survive the end of the world in 2012. I don't really think it will happen. If it does it does. Not really going to worry about it. lol

Same old story, the world has been ending for centuries now, and yet it's still here. It was meant to end on 2000, when the computers were supposed to take over the world ala Terminator, when in reality it was just a programming mistake. It was supposed to end 11-11-11 last year, to mention a couple and it didn't. People will look for anything to make drama and buy all the water and supplies out of groceries and convenience stores. When it actually happens, if it does happen, and if it happens in our lifetime, it will probably be a day that nobody was expecting.

We can't even predict tornadoes and earthquakes, how are we going to predict the end of the world?

First of all, there is not evidence to this claim at all. Also, if you where going to stock up on survival supplies you should have started a long time ago and not because of the whole 2012 thing. These disasters already happen, and they do so quite frequently. There is a good change that sometime in your life you'll experience one, if not several of these things. Its good to be prepared, but the problem with these prophecies is that makes people prepare for the wrong reasons. After 2012, there will be a lot of people dumping survival equipment and stop stocking up on food. Its highly recommended to have at least a 2 weeks worth of food and water that you use and restock regularly in addition to the food you use on a monthly basis, as well as basic items like matches, extra batteries, cash. Because you never know when a disaster will happen, and that's reality.
These prophecies are dangerous, because it makes us assume we know when our world will be flipped upside down. When the reality of it is that we don't.

I'm not one that has ever believed anything besides the word of God. I defintely don't feel that Decemebr 21,2012 will be our last day here in on earth. Things like this can't be predicted by man.

Are you serious? The only vibrations coming from the earth is earthquakes. There is nothing that is going to change after the 21'st of this month, or any month, that would not have changed regardless. Sure, the world is still full of corruption, but is it any worse than its been in history? I would argue, that as a whole, things have gotten a lot better since the dark ages. Love and compassion should come from the need to make the world a better place, and should not be attached to some arbitrary number made up by human beings thousands of years ago. Just like what we believe should not be based on writings from thousands of years ago. True progress can only be obtained if we rid ourselves of these petty attachments. They're not real.

It's my nephews birthday and he said he was going to party through it. I am thinking if he does it is going to be one big headach the 22nd.

I read in some magazine that came with our local newspaper that, scientist think that is not going to happen now. I guess we will just have to wait and see. :dontknow:

I think what's going to happen is that once again all the gullible people in the world who buy into the doomsday predictions are going to wake up broke and disappointed. in my opinion, all the end of the myan calendar means is that the myans only made the calendar until a certain date, and had intended to be around to have had a new one ready by the time this one ended. Much the same as we buy a new calendar for January 1st.

no one knows when the world is going to end, except GOD! read the Bible, and you might learn something. i will be praying for all of the people that think the world is going to end on dec21, 2012. they definitly need prayer!!!

I don't think it means the world is going to end. It just means that the Mayan Calendar will end. I think it means that it will be a new era.

NO, nobody know when the world will end only God. How many times have they said in 2000, and other years and here we are all full of life. many problems but alive. :angel11:

I hope not...... I have not completed all my goals as yet. I need to see my children grow up and take charge of their lives. I need to retire and take a long vacation with my lovely wife. Need more time man.............

I agree- plus there have been many man-made end of the world dates that have come and gone. I'm sure it will end, eventually, but 12.21.12 isn't the day.. my clock says we're 4 minutes into it. I'm still here!

I am so happy to say that I was Baptised Dec 9th, which is something I have wanted to do for 15 years! Dec 21st or not I am so so happy to be prepared and to finally feel whole!

You don’t have to be baptized to feel whole,
If you believe in God and that Jesus died for our sins,
Just have faith then why wouldn't you go to Heaven?
I have never been baptized but I believe that doesn't mean I am not going to Heaven.
I am not saying that there is anything wrong with being baptized but being prepared doesn't mean you have to be baptized.

My 14 year old daughter made a good point. As far as the Mayan's go...they didn't think about leap year so they are way off. Only one knows and that's God so anyone trying to figure it out is way out of there league.
