Oh I dream of having the time to make cookies . . . I envy you.  Right now, I buy from bakeries.  Special bakeries that have the cookies everyone talks about!  Don't like buying them from the grocery store much.

Mmmm there is nothing like home made cookies to me to get in the spirit of the holidays. My mom is already on her 5th kind of baked good. I have yet to start. Today I will make some shortbread cookies that I will shape like candy canes. I will split the batter in two and dye one of them red. Then twist it together and form the shape and I will have candy cane looking shortbread cookies. Tomorrow a pound cake and some coconut drop *bleep* and the list goes on until Monday starts my full week of visiting and having loved ones over to enjoy in the goodies.

I love old fashioned sugar cookies decorated with colored icing and sprinkles of all kinds.  I have many different Christmas cookie cutter shapes.  I do hope I will have time to bake some this year.  I'm making a pound cake first.  I can still remember how great my grandmother's pound cake always tasted.  Of course, she used real butter and eggs.  How could it NOT have been good.  I try to stay health conscious and cut down on some of the fat and calories, but it's still good to me!

I love to bake, but don't care too much for sweets. But hubby, friends and family make up for it. I give some to neighbors also. Also have some elderly friends that i makefor, but have to be careful of what i make for then. Usually will bake with honey instead of sugar. But they are good.

Planning to make our family's traditional kolaches tomorrow...maybe Saturday.  Have to see how sore I am from shoveling snow today after Draco dumped on us...

Alright now I have my red and green cupcakes baked. Waiting for them to cool and then I will frost with the opposite color for each one (red cupcake with green buttercream icing and green cupcake with red buttercream icing). Candy cane cookies are rising in the fridge for another 2 hours until I can roll them out, twist n cook them. Tomorrow afternoon will be the last 2 items. 1 is fried so it's not really a dessert but it is pretty much just dough. The 2nd is an Italian doughnut, mmmm I can't wait! Happy Holidays all and for the ones that celebrate including myself, Merry Christmas

Depends ....i don't mind baking them but I'm too lazy most of the time so the store it is. Ironically the store i go to, it costs to more to buy the dough and bake it then to just buy it store-brought.

I made 3 different batches of cookies. I made shortbread, which were absolutely delicious!--then I made regular chocolate chips and thin, chewy yet crispy chocolate chips, my sister and I like them that way and I couldn't believe i could find a recipe for cookies just like that  ;D  they were all very good- it's winter so there will be more baking going on still, not just for the holiday

I finished off all my baking for Christmas with candy cane cookies. I had to separate the batches so that I could dye one of them red. They took forever to roll out, shape and spiral together for effect on the tray. They were so good with the perfect touch of peppermint. Wish they were a little easier to make so that I could have made more though.

The holidays were so crazy! My mom and aunt made a lot of candy.  I didn't have time.  But now, I think I will bake some!  I was so overwhelmed with all of the sweets leading up to christmas.  Now I guess I am having sugar withdrawals! LOL  So maybe a few cookies now. . .

I do both. I like to make homemade chocolate chip cookies myself. Sometimes, my son will help and we like to eat the cookie dough. Around the Holidays, I usually order some really nice cookies from a nearby cookie/candy house that can customize your cookies the way you like them. I need more kitchen tools and supplies to make really nice cookies. Maybe next year or so I will be able to make better cookies from home!
Good Luck!
