My back went out today and my desktop broke down, I don't have any money to replace it and I need to start school in 2 weeks. Not starting great.

Started off with a migraine headache and got into a disagreement with my 17 year old daughter. So no not just you. I hope it gets better. :BangHead:

I am sorry to hear about all the problems. I hope and pray everything works out for you all.
I was involuntarily terminated from a seasonal part time on the 28th. On Monday (12/31) I had a interview with another company and was on my way home, when they called and offered me a full time position at starting at their highest pay scale. So far so good (unlike last year, where I was involuntarily committed for 72 hours). I start on Thursday.

Not me, I finished up a major money making project New Years Day that I have been struggling with and started a new cash flow stream. Life is great!

This year is starting off as planned for me, I haven't had anything good or bad happen (yet), but I would suggest for both of you to focus on solutions instead of the problem.
For instance: see if you can rent another computer. My ex husband just rented one for $80 per month and his credit is SHOT. If that's not an option, talk to the library about reserving you a computer for school work during operating hours. If that's not an option, maybe you have a friend who'd be willing to let you use their computer until you replace yours. As far as the migraines, are you taking anything for them? If you can't get to the doctor right away try Excedrin Migraine. Then, speak with your 17 year old about what's REALLY going on. A lot of times an argument is a cover up for a deeper underlying problem, or maybe she's just being a teen (lol). Schedule a date with her where you two window shop at the mall and then find a nice place to eat there and site down and really talk. If it's just growing pains it'll pass. Hopes this helps!

it wasn't a bad day just not a good day either.my back started hurting pretty bad yesterday...hubby and i got into it last night...but everything goes on

I bought the laptop I use for surfing the Internet for $21.50 on Ebay.

Just another day at the office for me, but I telecommute from home and made overtime. At least it wasn't freezing outside. I live in Florida. :)

Ehh...no day on the calendar holds that much significance to me. The "start of a new year" has no bearing on what will happen to you, good or bad.

i spent my last day of 12 in miami then orlando, i think that was good start since the weather there was so beautiful, compare to my frozen place ;D

Its only the 2nd but the bad is carrying over from last year. Havent paid Dec rent yet,dont know where the money is gonna come from. All bill are past due, Santa skipped my house, but its only the 2nd, its still early jus keep your head up and keep on pushing :thumbsup: :peace:

I just need my tax returns and I should be alright. I held these creditors off as long as I could.

New Year's is highly emphasized as a "new start" so people expect all their problems to go away and sunshine and rainbows to follow them when the clock strikes midnight. So anything bad on not ideal that may happen in Jan is taken to an extreme. Life is what you make it 365 days a year. :peace:

Sorry to hear that. My new year has been uneventful so far. I can say that it has been really boring and I hope to find some new hobbies this year. I am on the computer waay too much sometimes.

Other than the fact that I got sick on Christmas Day with a cold, and I am still coughing and can't get rid of the cough, I guess my New Year has been okay so far.

I love ebay, and I don't mind used products, but I prefer new electronics, but it's good to know there are $20 laptops available

I know that's right, I need mine too. While the kids were counting down to Christmas I was counting down to tax return season.

Yeah, it hasn't been so hot of a new year for me... Yesterday just before going home for the day at work, one of the project managers told us that a major project that we had been working on for the last few months was suddenly canceled. But it hasn't been as bad as some people... My best friend's brother was one of the tenants affected by the 3-alarm fire (see http://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local/SF-3-Alarm-Fire-Displaces-Dozens-185296742.html (http://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local/SF-3-Alarm-Fire-Displaces-Dozens-185296742.html)) in San Francisco. So I guess I should just be thankful that I have my health, my home, my friends and family, and my job. It could always be worse.

The new year hasn't been good for me so far. I vowed to make changes this year and so far everything that I seem to do back fires but I am not going to give up.

Yep, had a toothache since NY eve and haven't qualified for surveys since Christmas... slow. Hope it picks up soon..got bills to pay. :BangHead:

Yeah kind of I had a terrible headache, felt dizzy and my grandmother had to be taken to the hospital, when spent the 1st and 2nd in the emergency room/hospital.

Well it is really not that bad but I already take care of my mom which she is 94 yrs old w/alzheimer's and dimentia and in Dec. my daughter that lives with us got a job and put her daughter in daycare, they had an opening for Mon. Wed. and Fri. and the beginning of the year she would start to go everyday but needless to say it hasn't happened yet so I don't know which one is worse my mom or my 3yr old grandchild lol but I do know it is really hard on me just thought I'd share this, she pays daycare but she doesn't pay me lol :BangHead:
