Doing something that is “bad” doesn’t always mean you are a bad person. Many times, good people make bad choices out of personal insecurities and not feeling confident in who they are. This leads to jealousy, anger, resentment, and sadness – all feelings that can encourage us to make bad choices instead of good ones. If we focus on being happier in our own skin, we can then find it easier to show kindness, generosity, and warmness to those around us. When we feel good about who we are we no longer have reasons to lie, cheat, yell, curse, etc.

God is the only one who is truly good. Even His Son Jesus said that! We can never be good enough for entrance to see God in His glory, that's why He sent His Son to die for us to take away our sins (which we were born into) if we truly believe this and try to live the way Jesus taught us, and when we fall short of this if we repent He will forgive us!

Read the Bible...I tell the kids even a prostitute who goes out on the corner 4 times a week thinks she's better than the one that goes out 7! The comparison has to be made against the Bible standards. If you lied even once, stolen a penny or pencil, looked on someone and lusted (that's not your wife or husband) you've already committed adultry in your heart (Jesus's words)...then you're not 'good enough' and you'll be held accountable. Jesus came to take that punishment for us and if we believe, trust and follow Jesus as not only Savior, but also as LORD, then we are 'good enough' in God's eyes because Jesus took the penalty of our disobedience for us. That is how good God is! The only goodness we have comes through Him!

Deciding that someone is "good" or "bad" is all about judging others. We are all unique and we all make mistakes. I'd like to think that we are all doing our best.
That may or may not be true.
A "good" person might make a bad choice; however, that doesn't make them a bad person. Hopefully they will learn to make better choices in the future.
There are life lessons that we might learn as we experience free will. If we make choices that would be harmful to others we might lose our freedom because we could end up being incarcerated. That's motivation to make "good" choices for most people.

I like to think I'm a good person that made bad decisions. Now that my life is just about over (60 yrs) can't change much of what has happened but i've been really considering getting more religion in my life. Maybe be forgivin for the things i've done. :peace:
