Do you like the library? I personally love the library. I love the smell of the books, the ambiance, and the selection of books! I love to read, so me and the library go well together!

Yes, I love to go the library. My family and I go at least once a week. I check out DVD's, magazines, CD's, books for my son and sometimes documentaries. All free, so we save money on that. My son enjoys reading and I want to keep the joy of reading instilled in his life. I worry that before long there won't be anymore libraries because of all the technology gadgets around today. When I was in high school I always hanged out in the library during lunch. Yeah, I was a nerd girl, always having my head stuck in a book, but I'm quite smart and take pride in that today! lol

I like the library I do not go as often as I should but when I do I love it! I like having libraries around to get all the books I can read, plus they have activities that are fun for everyone!!!

Yes I do. When I was a kid we used to go and rent out a bunch of books and we would get Sizzler certificates if we read a certain amount per week. It was great.

I do. I really enjoy the feeling. I've been going since I was a kid. I unfortunately only go a few times a year now whereas back then it was every week.

Oh yes one of my favorite places too go, Way back when i lived in a real small village our biggest joy was the bookmobile. It only came once a month and we only got too check out 5 books each, but my mother and sister all enjoyed reading everything. And if we finished all of ours we traded with my aunt and grandmother. So there was plaenty to go around. Tv was not good where we lived.

I love going to the library and always have since I was a small child. They are in the process of expanding the library in my small town and I can't wait for it to re-open.

Great question! Yes, there is a local public library branch about 4 blocks from my apartment and I love to go. The libraries as stated before are awesome sources of CD's, DVD movies, books and more, more, more. I have lots of authors whose series I follow and like to try to stay on top of what's new. I am considering joining our library's book discussion groups, maybe. I have to check into what books they are doing and when they meet, but that is something I would LOVE to start doing!

i love the library! since i seldom reread books, its a waste of money to buy books for me. its also always such a peaceful place to just wander around <3

Shhhhhhh quiet, I have not been to a library in forever!!..........but once upon a time when the kids were small I so enjoyed going there :wave: shhhhhh quiet :)

I absolutely love the library! I have fond childhood memories of the library and as an adult the productive environment motivates me. Now they loan new DVDs and that's makes it even better lol You can put a movie on hold as soon as it goes from the theaters to the stores. You get to keep it 2 weeks with only a 10 cent late charge per day after that- better than Redbox lol

I love going to the library, I haven't been able to go for some time now, where I live now our local library is very very tiny. I have been in libraries that are 3 floors big, something about them are just quiet, inviting, and miss that quiet time!

Froggy, I so wanted to reply to this right after you had posted it, but I'd reached my posting quota for the day. Anyway, I *LOVE* the library and go at least once a month. My boys still check out books and movies there and I just recently went to a class on downloading e-books from the library's online catalog. How cool is that? Love it!
My library is large and has several computer stations, but my favorite thing is the huge fireplace in the back with lots of comfy chairs and couches. Also, when my kids were small, the children's area was a favorite place because of the large floor space with fun area rugs (the whole place is carpeted, however) and they used to love doing the Reading With Rover thing - reading to dogs. Too fun!

I actually haven't been in a few months. I enjoy building up my personal library of books, so purchasing and owning a physical copy is enjoyable to me. This is also why I've avoided buying an e-reader for so long :P

I also enjoy the library. The only library that was kinda of annoying for me now is the law library. When I go into the library, they ask me if I a law student. If I tell them I am not a law student, the they ask me to leave. This seems a bit ironic that freedom has a cost particularly at a public university law library.

I too love reading but since I got my Kindle going to the "library" just got a whole lot easier and much more convenient!!!!

Yes I enjoy going to the library a lot because I love to read and check out new books; I like the atmosphere there... also it is nice and quiet. I like how there is so many books to choose from

We used to go to the library all the time but I got a tablet with a Kindle app and my husband got a Kindle. Now, we just go to the library site and browse the books. When we decide on some, we borrow them through Amazon. It's all very easy and very convenient.

I haven't been to the Library in quite sometime since I now have an eReader. But in the past I was always in the Library especially when the ambience was just right and they had comfortable chairs. Now they have chairs hard enough to cause butt and back pains. I think that is stop people from staying too long.

I love the library but never have enough time to visit! The hours are somewhat restrictive...correction...my schedule is too restrictive! I am working over one hundred and ten hours per week right now and am having a hard time getting to see my family much less have a quiet moment to myself! I would love to go in, sit down, catch up on periodicals for about three hours, peruse the cd and dvd section, and find a book to sit down and read for about five hours...with the promise that I would come back the next day to finish reading it! Once I get my teeth into a good book I don;t let go until I have read the entire book in a matter of two days.

I love to read but rarely have time, I literally give myself 5 minutes a day to read my book and sometimes I don't even get the chance to read it (life of a mother, I'll have time to read when my kids are grown)
Sometimes I think I forget about the library! I always go to Goodwill and pay 50 cents for some amazing books!

I still go to the library once in awhile. It's only about 2 blocks away so I walk there to get some exercise and when i get there, I can relax with a good book. ;)

What most people don't know is that your library can come to YOU... I'm disabled, but you don't have to be disabled, just get a library card and have the library put you in the computer and then you go to the online library and you can check out a book for up to two weeks... the mysterious online library folks take the book back at the end of the time you choose... lt's really a fantastic way to utilize a FREE service. :heart:

I worked in the public library for 34 years and I loved the books, the children, the programs, etc. Now I enjoy using their services.

I don't know why anyone pays for movies when you can get them free at the library. Like new releases. We get up to 12 at a time for a week. My son picks out every Wonder Pets or whatever and I get a couple of movies. who cares if we don't watch them. They are free!!!

I really do not like the library. With my allergies, it would be hard for me to remain quiet these days. I am usually coughing a lot during allergy season.

Wow...never really thought about it but I did like the smell when I was younger. But I haven't been to a library in years. I don't miss it to be honest.

I have priveledges at fout different library chains in the KC Metro area. I'm in at least one of them everyday.

When I was a girl, my parents would take us for "library night."
Later in my life, there was a job opening for library in New York. I took the train from Chicago and took the job.
I learned everything: magazines, new books, cataloging, circulation.
I have a library/ small reading room in the building I live in.
There are six of us residents who help put books away.
Once a librarian, always a librarian.
That can be said for other professions as well, if people enjoy what tey do for a living.

Yes and no. I'm a huge bookworm, and the rare times I get to go to the library I love perusing for new books, topics, and authors. Sadly my local library is less than impressive, so when I've been looking for something in particular I rarely find it. However, a large, well-stocked library with comfy chairs is a nice place to spend a lazy afternoon.

I love going to the library! I don't know what I would do if I couldn't go and get an actual book to read. Just the feel of it in my hand. I don't even want a kindle or these other pads that let you download books. It's just not the same.

I had a library card when I was a kid ... I love to read but usually don't have the time to do it.
My sister still reads every night before she goes to bed. I may have to start doing that.
I miss reading .. there is nothing like a good book.

My family and I are absolutely passionate about our local library. It's a tiny little piece of history in our town and the people that run it put there hearts and souls into the programs. I only wish it were closer so we could utilize it every day. I too like settling into the library for a few hours. It's sort of like therapy to me. The quiet, the education, the creativity at work.... for Zero cost. We've gotten into the habit of visiting every other weekend and it has saved us so much $$$ and brings our family together in an old fashioned sort of way. Sometimes my husband even comes with us and it becomes a family affair.

I have always loved the library even since I was a child. Now even my girls 13 and 24 love it too. We go for the books,
the internet, the movies, the quiet. I even love the smell! Its just a great place!

I have so much fun taking my kids there to pick books out. The look on there faces when there trying to decide which ones they want!!!

I also love the library. We moved to a small community in Ohio four years ago and I was impressed with the lovely library they have here. Just by luck, they were hiring two years ago when I asked and I have been working there with some great people for two years now. I really love it. The place, people and job are great even if the pay is pretty low.

I used to work as a display artist at the central library for 27 years before I moved to the US. It was wonderful to be surrounded with all those books! The pay was pretty grotty, but the atmosphere and people were amazing!

I love the library, but admittedly I don't go as often as I used to. There was a time, though, that I would check out all kinds of DVD's--it felt like going shopping for free!

I like to read so yes I do enjoy the library. I used to frequent the computer lab when I didn't have a internet access and spent hours before they restricted the time to one hour surfing the web for my favorite topics. Of course I took out a lot of books including audiobooks on topics that included sports and biographies. It was great going with my aunt because she lives nearer to am even nicer library that is far larger than mine where you can stay online as long as you want and interloan DVD's which my system doesn't. Gotta love the library. ;)

We have a good library in my small town. They have a growing DVD collection. I've had to use the computers or the wi-fi at times. I love going to the Thursday night movie. I've gotten several good books through the Friends of the Library sales. :thumbsup: :heart: 8)

I used to go to the library while growing up as they did not have the internet or even PCs at that time. But now with access to the internet, I can find all the information I need from the internet. However, I do like going to book stores and browsing the store.

Nope. I do like to read, but I wouldn't say I read for pleasure. If I feel the need to read a book then it is going to be a book that I want to own so I have the option of looking through it again or reading the whole thing again.

I feel the same way as long as I leave my kids at home or bring one at a time. It can be chaotic when I bring them all, which ruins the experience.

When I was a lot younger, I loved the library. I love books, so the library was the best place to be! Nowadays, libraries are so strapped for money that they can't afford to get in a good selection of new books. I'm really getting into reading ebooks, so I theoretically won't need a physical library at some point.
