Title: instruments
Post by: sgluckadoo on February 02, 2013, 10:26:26 pm
Do you plan an instrument? Is there an instrument you wish you could play?

I took piano lessons when i was small, but have not retained very much. I wish i could play banjo and violin.

I used to play the trumpet when I was in junior high and high school.  It was fun at the time.

When I was a kid, I had a few piano lessons...hated it and I don't remember anything. So no instrument for me...was never interested in learning one.

I was in the band in junior high and high school. I play the flute. I would like to learn to play piano. My son wants to take piano lessons.

I played the sax in the high school band.  But, yes, that was long ago and I have only pulled it out a few times over the years to mess with it, but I will say it did stick with me and I can still do all the old high school fight songs and marches as I learned then.  I think it may be because at the time I really considered it fun and not hard. The sax, that is.  I WON'T say the same thing about marching and the shows and performances.

I took piano lessons for 6 months, but Mom couldn't afford to keep my sister and me in lessons.  I can plink out simple tunes on the piano.

In Junior High, I learned how to play the Alto-Clarinet.  I cannot remember ANYTHING about how to play it.

I have never played an instrument.  I did play the violin in middle school, but that was honestly just so I could get out of class.  This type of thing is just so much easier when we are young and I have no intention of learning anything now.

I played clarinet for one year in middle school and a bit of piano with self teaching books when I was a kid. I have never been good at an instrument but I wish I was. Not enough hours in the day to do the things you need to do and want to try. I think I would like to learn to playing a Cello, I love the sound of it and learn piano better.

Ooh, I love playing musical instruments. I've played the violin, flute, tuba, and a little piano. I would love to get better at the piano. I find playing certain songs can be a great stress reliever. I've also always wanted to play the cello. Actually the reason I played the violin as a kid was because the music teacher said I was too small to play the cello or the viola, although now I would love to learn to play the fiddle part to "Devil Went Down to Georgia."

Piano and guitar...but not very well.  My kids play a variety of intsruments including piano, saxophone, trombone, clarinet, and trumpet.  We have a couple guitar players too and great voices, tho I am not among them.

I took piano lessons for 12 years.  The only song I can play is the first song I learned when I was 7 years old.... "Frisky Lambs"
I can still play the guitar though.  Always wanted to play the sax.

I used to play the baritone when I was in 5th grade. I thought it was interesting to play a new instrument, but it's the size of a tuba so it was a bit bulky to carry around. I really wanted to play the saxaphone, but the baritone was all they had left. Once I changed schools I never took another music class so I didn't get another chance to take lessons that way.

My cousin played piano and I learned how to play twinkle, twinkle little star as a child. It was fun, but I never continued learning after that because I had no one to teach me. That's another instrument I wish I could learned in addition to the drums.

I don't currently play any instruments. There are a LOT of instruments I would love to be able to play and hope to learn them some day. When I was little I learned one song on piano but that's as far that went. I wish I could have played instruments when I was growing up. I also learned a song on violin about 13 years ago, but that was it. Now though, I'm kinda sorta learning to play guitar. I say kinda sorta because I'm practicing daily (or even a couple times a week) like I should be. I don't think anyone in the history of musical instruments was ever as horrible as I am. Lol
