I'm taking pictures at a school dance..

Turn out, im not just taking snap shots of the dance,

im taking the photos kids are PAYING for...


-______- How do i do that?!??!? I'm not a photographer!

aim the camera, look through the lens push the button...

Make sure any light sources are BEHIND you to reduce lens glare

you probably already know this, but make sure you
have a tripod! the school should supply one...

Place your tripod in front of a good background (not too busy and not too bland) so that the kids just pose in front of it, remember all the good advice from the members here and push the button. If you have a digital camera you can quickly check if the pic looks alright or not. Good luck and ENJOY!!

See if your camera has a sensor that the motion is easier to capture. I'm not great at taking pictures but my camera does all the work. Plus If you don't have the skill try to catch them when they are doing the least moving.
