I've seen them but didn't buy one.  I personally think it's easier to buy soda either in can or bottle.

If you drink a lot of soda, it seems like a good value. Plus you will be doing a great favor to the environment by generating less waste. I say go for it!

Nah I would not buy it, just use any carbonated beverage and add your own syrup flavors - a machine is not needed to do this, you get exactly what you want, know what it is in it and much more cost effective...  just my thoughts...  great topic!

i'm not sure if you are talking about the soda stream or not.  but if so, my husband bought me one for christmas and i love it.  i saw it being advertised on an infomercial, and thought it would be cool to try.  it's great in so many ways.  it has way less calories than an average soda.  your average soda will have about 150 calories, and a glass of sodastream soda has about 35 calories.  also it's way healthier because it doesn't have all of that high fructose corn syrup.  it's so easy to make and it actually tastes great.  some flavors taste more like the real thing than others.  so far i think the cola, the dr. pepper, orange soda, and the root beer are great.  i am a coke-a-holic and i wanted a way to be able to still drink them but lose some of the calories and this is the way to do it.  i hate diet sodas and they are terrible for you.  this is the way to go!!

I have been thinking about buying the soda stream for a while now. I like that NONE of their syrups contains High Fructose Corn Syrup. I have heard that High Fructose Corn Syrup is really bad for you. I am probably gonna buy a Soda Stream at Costco next month.

Never bought one, but I've seen them at Bed Bath and Beyond. May be a conversational piece when you have company at your house.

These sort of devices have the capability of saving you big bucks- if you use it right. However if it should ever break, it is extremely hard to find spare parts or someone who is experienced in repairing them. Buyer beware!

I never saw the advertising for this machine. I am a Coca-Cola fan too. I feel the same way about wanting to get rid of the HFCS and I hate the diet ones too. I think I will try it out.

For my son I bought the Coca Cola Icee maker machine. Was not like it was advertised. I even made sure I read comments and thoughts of others who bought it. Not everybody comments mean much it is one of those purchases you have to just go with the flow and buy at your own risk. Same goes for any purchase you buy.

I'm unable to help you with this.  I have never purchased a drink machine.  I did consider purchasing a soda machine.  I thought it would be a nice way to help out the environment by not adding extra plastic bottles to our landfills.

I wondered about this. I saw it advertised and am curious to hear from someone who has one. From the above comment it sounds like it might be alright. I would really like to find someone that I know that has one so I could try it.

I think that a person is very accustomed to what a certain soda tastes like....I doubt that the home made soda is going to taste like its "supposed to".

I don't know anything about soda machines but fountain soda never tastes like bottled soda so I would wonder about a soda machine.

I am not a soda drinker but from what I hear those machines can save you money. I was wondering if the taste would compare to what you are used to though.

If you just like soda water, or soda water with a blueberres in it to taste it or strawberries it might be ok. I dont think they make good cokes.

We got one recently. It works pretty well but doesn't quite carbonate as much as I would like. I'm a coke freak and the Sodastream cola flavors aren't that good. The natural cola with cane sugar tastes better.  You can buy coca cola syrup on eBay. It comes in big 2.5 gallon bags. I'm considering that.  I need to play with it more. My daughter likes the lemonade quite a bit.

I've never been a real big fan of soda. It's okay, not my drink of choice.

I saw it on commercial but it's too good to be true.
