I kill anything i touch lol it's sad really. I buy plants and they die within a couple weeks. I don't know what I am doing wrong the worst part is that I love having indoor plants. Anyone have tips for me? Oh btw I do have a survivor in my bathroom IDK how its hanging in there but it makes me so happy lol Next I want to grow tomatoes outside or something like.

Do you have a Spider plant? They are hard to kill. That's one houseplant that is for anyone, me thinks.

Oh I hate spiders also. About a month ago I saw one on the floor, next to one of my dogs, and it was so big that I had to look again to make sure I wasn't seeing things. Little critter decided to scuttle along on the floor but I impailed it with my straw broom!
Toms are not too hard to grow but if you start them outside (like if you grow from starts), make sure it is not too cold out. Springs are always too cold around here and last year we put out a bunch of starts when it was too cold. Needless to say, not a lot of them worked out. :angry7:

Oh I hate spiders also. About a month ago I saw one on the floor, next to one of my dogs, and it was so big that I had to look again to make sure I wasn't seeing things. Little critter decided to scuttle along on the floor but I impailed it with my straw broom!

Sorry your plants died but your little blue face made me laugh lol... Ughh spiders are so gross. I ALways do a double take hoping its not real most of the times it doesn't work lol I havent seen a straw broom since i lived in mexico that is so cool I love to sweep outside with those bad boys. I usually take a vacuum to any spiders in my house that goes for any other bugs as well. I don't like to hear them crunch ughhhh makes my skin crawl. :confused1:

I don't like to hear them crunch, either! GROSS!! Hubby asked why I just didn't step on the one I saw and I said, "Are you kidding me? I don't want spider guts all over the bottom of my shoe!!!" Eeeeggg.... where's the 'vomit' smiley when you need it??? Guess this'll do -- > :-X

LOL! Yes, we'll just stick with this :-X for sick/illness.
Yep, men don't care about the bottoms of our shoes or anything. At least they are there if we wimp out and don't want to kill the blasted things ourselves. Funny thing, my 15yo son freaks at the sight of spiders and he did NOT get it from me. He tends to wuss out ...

If not a spider plant, might I suggest a snake plant. They are beautiful and hardy. Not to mention pretty hard to kill. My grand mother had ones that were years and years old. Look into them, you might be suprised ;)

I don't usually have too much luck with house plants. They might live for a year or so but that's about it. I keep trying though.

My grandmother raised gardens, but I guess I am like you. I can't grow a plant to save my life. I have tried. I recall my co-worker went on maternity leave and asked me to water her plants. I told her not to be surprised if she comes back and they are dead, because I have a brown thumb (I can't call it green). I touch it and it dies too. Don't feel bad; welcome to the club!!! ???

First, you read the instructions of what is needed to keep the plant alive. Those instructions aren't just there to take up space. A mixture of different soils is needed for most plants.

I love to grow indoor and outdoor. plants. But the last couple of years we have hot,hot dry weather. So hubby is going to put up a tent, that we picked up for pennies on the dollar and i will get a special sized shade cloth to put on it so my tomatoes and peppers will be shaded. The rest it will be ok. Come on spring time.

I have had the same plant for about 4 years. it never seems to grow bigger, just stays the same size. But its still alive so guess I'm doing something right :)

I don't have a good answer for you because I can kill a plant very fast. We used to joke that my grandmother left her green thumb to my husband because she knew that I was horrible with plants. She could make a stick grow ;D and my husband was the same. :dontknow:
