Every summer my boyfriend and I sit at home thinking what can we do. We don't have a lot of money so we settle for something as cheap as possible. We usually choose to walk park trails. A lady that I work with told me she loves the thrift stores. What do you do?

Spending the day at the park or beach

I like to go to the park, especially if it has swings. :P I know I'm not a kid anymore but man do I love a good swing set! ;D I haven't been to a park in a long time though. I sure do miss those swings. :( Sometimes I like to watch a favorite movie that I haven't seen in a while. Listen to music with some candles or incense burning. And sometimes I just play a game either on the computer or a game console. I recently hooked up my N64 and started to play a little bit.

We like to go for a drive. Sometimes to nearby small towns to check out their flea markets. Although, with the price of gas these days, that may be slipping out of the inexpensive category.

We are on a budget so we often do inexpensive or no-cost activities. My husband and I like to go for walks, watch birds, read together, or watch Indie films.
If we have the ingredients, we try out new recipes.
Sometimes, we sit outside and have a small fire and watch the stars.

If I have extra time, I take my Chihuahua down to the dog park and watch her run. If I feel energetic I may even throw a ball for her.

Being an empty nester and having MS (no energy) I enjoy getting books electronically from my library and doing FusionCash each and every day...

Well my favorite and cheapest thing to do is also something I like to do with my girlfriend, but I have to keep this post PG-rated, so that's as far as I will say... ;D
Seriously, I love to read and books are usually about the price of a movie (for new paperbacks) yet will take me much longer to go through (thereby extending my enjoyment for longer periods of time). I also enjoy role-playing games (although now that I'm working, I don't get to do that as much anymore). There used to be a group that I was with whose game master (GM) had actually created the game himself, and so he really focused on the role-playing and story telling aspects. For example, instead of rolling some dice to determine your "stats" he'd actually have us come up with a character concept, and then assign stats and skills to that character we envisioned. Sometimes he'd even adjust the rules so as to fit our concept better. Like when I made this mage character... I wanted that character to have extremely steady and dexterous hands, like a surgeon, so that he could create accurate runes, but because the character grew up with his nose in a book all the time, he was near-sighted and clumsy in any athletic endeavor. So the GM had me split my "dexterity" stat into "adroitness" (which handled anything small that I was doing with my hands) and "athleticism" which handled the actions for the rest of my body as well as anything distance related (like throwing a ball). I was also given a "near-sighted" skill that gave me a boost to seeing things up close and a penalty to seeing anything at a distance.
I also enjoy all sorts of outdoor activities. Living in MN, you're never far away from a lake to go swimming in. Then there's camping, hiking, and cross-country skiing, all of which require a minimum amount of equipment.
When gas was cheaper, I also enjoyed going on long drives to see the surrounding areas. But I haven't done that it awhile now...

We pack a lunch and a blamket and sometimes a kite and head to the park.

Stay home and enjoy the summer, go for a ride and thrift shops. We live about 1 hour from Lancaster PA, and sometimes drive there, visit Amish shops, do the "tour" thing and get something to eat there. That can take up almost an entire day.

Except in nice weather my favorite thing to do is read. Weather permitting I enjoy gardening, especially flowers.

Sleep. Just kidding, I love going on car rides in the hills with my boyfriend!!

Go to the lake front.

I can relate. I have MS also. It makes anything that requires energy nearly impossible. I used to like to take walks and find things to do outside, but not so much anymore.

I like to explore free new places. Parks, museums...just the outdoors
because there so much to see!

my fiance and i spend a lot of time out on our little patio
once it gets warmer out. even if he's just reading and i'm
playing on the laptop - it beats sitting around the living room.
i'll make cookies and lemonade and just relax. if you don't have
an outdoor space, find one? we like to go on walks (he loves
to hike, but i'm not a huge fan) so we'll meet in the middle
and go on nature walks.
we're into furniture "restoring" ...just taking old furniture pieces
from thrift stores or hand-me-downs and revamping them.
last summer, we fixed up and painted an outdoor bench that
turned out awesome. it cost less than $20 when it was all said
and done. we just used the paint samples you get from lowes for
the paint, and then sealed it. we love it! we're working on our
kitchen table and chairs next (craigslist, $30!)
you can rent movies from the library for free!

sleeping is the best way to save money IMO. You can do it anywhere and have as much of it you want for free.

I like to go metal detecting. I get to be outside, I find interesting stuff and it is very low cost.
