I usually run out of milk first so most of the time it is my top priority.
-
Milk or bread
-
milk and eggs
-
Milk is usually at the top of the list since we appear to go through it so fast. And with the prices creeping up these days it is almost the same price as a gallon of gas.
-
Eggs and bread for me.
-
I was using powered milk, but it has been as expensive as regular milk. I still used powered, but not as much any more. I also started taking calicum vitimans.
-
Milk and bread probably top my list. Followed by lunch meat and cheese to fill the bread.
-
Top of my list is usually dog and cat food .... gotta feed the babies ... lol

When I walk into the grocery store, I first pick up their paper to see what's on sale. I then scan the items at the front of the store to see if there is something special there. That is followed by sweet potatoes (my husband's favorite), onions, potatoes, nuts, Miracle Whip, jelly, hot sauce, milk, etc. In our neighborhood stores, the milk is located around the corner. By the time we are leaving the store, I have spent $100 or more.

milk and eggs and definitely diet dr pepper

Like DWGGS, dog and cat food, bread, lunch meat, salad, yogurt, the list goes on and on....
-
The things we always run out of first is milk, bread, eggs and Peanut butter. The girls walk in from school and the first thing they usually go for is a peanut butter and Jelly sandwich and it is a thick layer of peanut butter they use.
-
I have 3 kids who go through milk like crazy, so it's always on our list.
-
I go to the store for milk and bread the most.

Milk, eggs & bread

Probably for my husband is always Milk & Bread, but for me it is lettuce and potatos, I am a vegetarian and try not to eat to much wheat either...therefore we eat so differently.

loll i usually have to get soda cause for some reason here thatsthe first thing to go in the house
-
Probably Milk, the area where I shop the milk, cheeses and bread are in the same Isle, so that are the normal three thing I buy and they are close to each other.
-
Vegetables are the reason I walk into grocery stores more frequently. Something I am cooking for dinner is what makes me walk into a grocery store.
-
Fruit for me - I've gotten in the habit of making homemade fruit smoothies for breakfast, so fruit is the first to go in my house. Followed by milk (which is also used in the smoothies).
-
I usually go for the shelf stables first, to get it out of the way. The produce second, then the meat, milk and whatever else.

Milk
Same here. With growing boys, we go through about a gallon a day.
-
Once I'm past the deli and the goodies, it's vegetables and fruit - so that's what I generally buy first. Sometimes I don't get past the goodies though without grabbing something.
-
Eggs for me....as long as I have eggs and grits, I'm happy.....
-
I uselly hit the pharmcy first and then work my over to staples and then the fresh meat, frozen items and then the veggie and fruit section. I only but once a month and out of town. Once in a while will buy milk , meat, veggies at localgrocery store. But it is so much cheaper for the rest of it out of town. always combine my trips ,like the dr. and other reasons when i do go. Saves so much even with gas and lunch.

I am constantly buying cat food! The Fancy Feast company must love me! Other than that, I need coffee and tea!
-
Because of the diet I am on, the first thing we buy is bacon.
Bacon, Heavy Cream, Sour Cream, Milk, Eggs.
I am on a high fat diet, called the Ketogenic Diet. I don't think I will ever get tired of bacon.

We buy our cat food in bulk. We only have two cats, but it is much less expensive buying in bulk than buying small quantities.

Toilet paper ::)

I usually go to the meats and see what is on special and start their since this is the most expensive part of my grocery shopping.
Once I pick out the meat for the week I have a good idea how much money I have left to work with for the rest of the week food. Usually its bread, milk and then lunch supplies.
I am lucky to have a whole sale distibutor close by for vegetables and fruit so I don't worry to much about those items.
-
I go right to the produce department, but only because it is the first department you come to after you walk in.
-
I see milk quoted a lot here. It's the same for us too. We used to buy so much milk that it started going bad from non use so we cut back, but now it's like we don't have enough. It's hard to find a balance of how much we need during the month so it usually runs out pretty quickly at times.
-
soda pop
-
I start at the back of the store and work my way to the front so that would be popcorn, nuts, eggs and cheese. ;)
-
always milk and then bread, sometimes butter or eggs
-
Since Krogers honors senior discounts on Wednesday we usually do our shopping then. I usually buy my produce first.
-
Tranquilizers to reduce my anxiety in those grocery stores. ::) ::) ::)
-
We usually run out of bread and soda before anything else. Generally the way I shop depends on where I am shopping. If I am shopping at Wal-Mart then it is the HBA aisles first. I wish they would move it closer to the grocery section. ::) After crossing the store I work my from back to front....and really hope I cross everything off my list so I do not have to go back. ;D If I am shopping at Food Lion, it would be the produce department, the aisles afollowed by meat and then to the frozen/cold items.
-
I always run out of green onions.
-
Bottled water - I can't stand the city water here its like drinking bleach so I buy a flat of water just about every time I go to the grocery store.
-
usually fresh produce since that is the first thing you see when you enter the grocery store I shop at....they made sure to put milk in the back of the store that way you have to walk back through slinging all kinds of stuff along the way that you didn't even stop for

Milk and bread for me. most of us have said milk and we know that is mostly found in the back of the store where you have to pass everything else to get to it. Great marketing I say.
-
usually the dry stuff first.

I try and limit myself to one big grocery trip a month, because I live on a fixed income. I definitely head for the vegetables, they're the first thing to go when I've got them. Oh, and anything yummy that I'm craving.
-
I usually get fruits and veggies because they are in the entrance of the grocery store.
