I find it so hard to adjust to the ever-advancing technology these days.  Many times I wish for the simpler way of life until I want to get on FusionCash or Facebook!

I had a Windows 98 game, and was able to make it work on my Windows XP computer. The game you bought might work on your computer.

I believe there are virtual machines that can run older versions of windows in order to use the program. I don't miss the old systems however, as usuall the newer ones fix the old problems.

Just Google emulator or even Windows 98 emulator (or whatever the old OS was that would run the program). I seem to remember that DosBox has been expanded to emulate other OSs aside from DOS (which is what the old games for the original IBM PC used to run on)... Some of the better emulators allow you to adjust the speed or even mimic the number / size of processors, amount of RAM, etc. so that the game doesn't run blazingly fast.

What game did you purchase? I am just curious! What operating system do you have?  You know My son gave me a computer and he put two operating systems on it for me the first one was windows 98 and the second one was windows xp, so maybe you can do that

Install the game, then right click on the icon on your desktop for the game.  Select Properties, then select compatibility.  Choose which operating system, then click apply.  Play your game.

Not really, the major OS system I started really using the computer was late windows xp and/or early vista... Windows 7 is probably the best OS and Windows 8 being one of the worst... There are some videogames I was to play again but most of them are Nintendo 64 and PS, which I think I still have

This is why I'm hesitant about upgrades myself. I always tend to lose things I find very important. In the past I've compensated by running a dual operating system on my computer, but nowadays I end up giving up most of my prior content in place of a semi decent replacement. An upgrade doesn't always mean an "upgrade."

You could replace the Windows 8 operating system, by buying a Windows 7 or Windows XP disc, and installing it. I want a new laptop too and this is what I may do.
