This is my 2nd Dell Laptop and I am just as unhappy with this one as my first one, I wasn't going to buy another one, but decided to give Dell a second chance.....had to have 3 motherboards put in my first one along with other problems, now this second one I am using has had to have 1 motherboard, 2 replacements of hard drive, along with multiple issues with wireless accessories, system operations restoring, etc....Please tell me your experiences with your computer and if you like or dislike Please!! Thanks

I had a Dell Inspiron, which I bought in 2002 and it still works, but is SLOW. Had to replace the hard drive and the battery. Now I have an HP Pavilion which I love, very fast, lots of memory and great graphics. Sorry to hear about your problems with Dell. :peace:

I am using a really old DEll Dimension right now. It has been a good one so I will probably stick with that brand for my next one also. That is one of the reasons I do surveys so I can afford a new comp. shortly.

I am using a hp laptop that I bought three years ago and it's still working like new. Now I am not a computer savvy type of person but I know that it has worked and performed all the tasks that needs to be done and I have no complains whatsoever. Now on the other hand, I don't know what a "mother board" is and hopefully my hp doesn't need any replacing soon on something like that. That's my experience with this hp laptop.

I've got an HP laptop and the screen is coming off and the battery is crap lol. But I've had it for a couple of years and dropped it twice. My family and I share a Dell desktop (that we've had to replace 3 times already). I'm sort of wary of Dell computers. Some are good, some aren't.

I like the DELL Models. I had two Dell Laptops. I bought a Dell 5150 back in 2004 and it is still being used by my Grandson. I now have the Dell Inspiron and am completely satisfied with it, had it since Nov 2010. In my Opinion the dell models are very dependable and durable.

I have had good experiences with my last two laptops - both Toshibas that I bought on sale. They work well, but only for about 4-5 years. For many of us, that is probably about the time we are ready to upgrade anyway.
-
This is my 2nd Toshiba and until now I have never had any problems...I have had this laptop less than a year and it is TERRIBLE...very poorly made.....
-
I have had multiple Dell's in the past and could not be happier with them. I buy the cheaper version of the laptops as that is all I really need. For whatever reason Dell stopped making their cheap version so recently I got a HP and I am not happy with it at all. I will go back to Dell for sure when it is time for me to get a new one.

I do my best to put my own computers together. I don't like pre-builts, like Dell or HP. They come with too much JUNK and BAGGAGE running in the background, not to mention that most everything is on the motherboard and if something goes, oh well, there goes your computer. I would much rather pick each component of my computer myself (the sound card, the motherboard, the video card, etc.) This way, I'm getting EXACTLY what I'm looking for and not someone else's idea of a computer. I always turn off unnecessary services running in the background. The more you have running in the background, the slower your computer will be. I baby my computers the best I can. Always have anti-virus and other software to help with malware, etc. I clean-up and defrag the hard drive and then I'll run DskChk to correct any possible errors on the hard drive. I learn as much as I can about my computer and it's operating system to do the things myself that other people pay good money for when something goes wrong. I've helped my friends and family members figure things out when they didn't have a clue what was wrong. I guess I'm doing ok! My old dinosaur (over 10 years old) is still up and running and I haven't had a problem with any of my choices of hardware. Right now, I'm looking forward to an upgrade - a completely new PC - but I'll certainly have to look in to what it's going to cost because I don't pick crap, LOL.

Despite a lot of bad reviews on them I use the Acer brand .
-
For laptops I've had a Thinkpad and an HP. Hate the HP and really, really miss the Thinkpad.
-
mac- hands down.

I think Acer is okay too. I've had an Acer laptop before and liked it a lot better than my HP. Too bad someone dropped it and ruined the screen and I ended up getting the HP laptop I have now (was cheaper than the repair).

I use a Toshiba and I've been very pleased with it. My only problem is that I've had it for awhile and have a bunch of programs and files on it so it gets kind of noisy from time to time, depending on what I'm doing.

Any brand name is OK with me...as long as it downloads fast!

I've been using a Hewlett-Packard laptop of some kind for the last 5 or 6 years. I like it so much that I no longer have a desktop computer. I find the HP dv7 is pretty good for video and music. I don't know how it does with games, as I don't play them. For my next laptop, I would first consider another HP. For the specifications I want, HP does a great job of meeting them. I also do some research on the Internet before making my purchase, though. Cnet.com is a good place to start, they have reviews for all kinds of computer things.

I have a Dell and had it for about 4 years and never had a problem (so far)!
-
I have an e-machine and am really happy with it. Have not had too many issues with it and I have had it for over 3 years now.
-
Toshiba. I bought mine on sale for school about two years ago and I have never had a problem. It was a good price and a very fast laptop.
-
I had an HP desktop that lasted 6 years and I have a Gateway laptop that is almost 4 years old now and it still works great.
-
I am a huge fan of HP. I have owned several HP laptops and I am a very happy customer. Each one has performed at a level that exceeded my expectations. I have had no problems with them. As a precaution, I use a fan/cooler to help keep them cool and prevent overheating since I am on it for hours. My experience with Dell has been nothing but problems. Years ago I owned a Gateway desktop and overall it was an ok computer. I know people that Macs and they absolutely love them but I don't have any experience with them.

I work on computers for a living. Trust me - stay away from Dell. The more they outsource, the worse they get. Even if you're lucky enough to get a working pc, the support is terrible. Also stay away from E-Machines. I've scrapped five of them in the last three months. (not mine - customer's) If you're getting a laptop - get an HP, it's the only way to go. If you're getting a desktop - go see someone who works on them and have them BUILD YOU ONE FROM SCRATCH!!!!! It's cheaper -AND you get exactly what you want. AND they last longer. Any place that repairs computers will be able to do this for you, most likely. If you know someone - all the better. If you want a recommendation on where to go, email me @ Nempie2013@gmail.com with your location and I'll be happy to do the research for you.

I used to have a DELL aswell and it also gave tons of problems. Now I have a macbook and it is the best thing ever.

I am sorry you are having a bad experience. My computer is a Dell Inspirion 6400. I have been very satisfied with Dell.
-
I've had my Dell laptop for about seven years, and I am fine with it.

I had a dell laptop that I was really unhappy with. My husband has a dell and it has lasted for years. Right now I am using an ASUS. I cannot say I am in love with it, but it is functional. I guess I am just hard on laptops.
-
NOT MAC. don't get a mac. please save yourself.
I like how easy the UI is and it was a lot better at the beginning, but has gotten horribly slow and way worse than my friend's PCs over the years. Harder to maintain (well maybe if I had more memory...but most people I know who have MACs lose them in 3 yrs for various tech.reasons)
I recommend Lenovos

I love the Compaq laptop that I bought in 2006. Everything still works and I have not had to replace anything; I seldom hook it up to the Internet though, which may account for its longevity.
-
I have an HP and I have never had a problem with the computer itself but HPs customer service really sucks!!!
-
I have dell desk top, but have been looking at their laptops. With what i am reading think i will be checking some other brands also. So far i have good luck with my desktop. Thanks for all the info.

I love my laptop HP :)
-
I have a Toshiba laptop and netbook and I've been very happy with both of them. I also bought an Acer Aspire once and it worked just fine for a long time.
I'd like to mention that it's important to learn how to maintain and protect your computer if you're going to access the internet.

I have been using Dell or a few years and I really did not like that brand. This time around I have a Toshiba and so far I am loving it, but it is only 20 days new so I will see how it goes. ;D

They are all good if they work. Other than that you just have to be lucky like with the TVs.

I have a lenovo and like it very much.

I have to say that my HP is better than my Dell ever was.

Lenovo or build my own desktop.

This is also my 2nd laptop. This one is a Toshiba. My last one was a Compaq. I like the Toshiba, but it has Windows 8 and I'm having to get use to this operating system.

I am perfectly happy with my Apple desktop and laptop. I have to use a PC at work and I hate it.
-
I am very happy with Apple laptops. I do have a bias just because ive grown up using them but I think theyre a lot faster than Dell or PC from experience. They can pretty much do anything you want. Theyre great if you like to keep up to date with cool new techy things. One macbook I got for high school lasted over six years going strong until the hard drive died. I replaced it and it still works great. My parent's macbook lasted a few years longer than mine before they needed a new hard drive. So over all id say they are great computers when you take care of them.
-
i really like apple because it is the original brand, but hewlett packard is more affordable
-
through out these last few years, I have had many different brand's of computers!!! and the bran of computer that I trust and like the most is Dell
-
I've had an Acer for the last 5 years and it is still running like a champ. I did crash and have to replace my OS once, but I'm pretty sure that was operator error, not the computer's fault. Haha. Acer was reasonably priced and gets the job done. I am not a gamer, just a daily e-mail checker, streaming shows, downloading music/movies and data entry.

I have had a Toshiba since 2008 with XP and recently upgraded the memory and installed Windows 7. The only trouble I had with the machine was runnig out of memory. I have 2 hard drives now and more RAM. I don'thave any problems and can use the same HP printer. I am really happy with its performance and will keep it until technology completely outdates its usefullness.

I have two toshiba's and I now need a new harddrive. My other toshiba was working fine until my son broke it. Have to be careful not to damage it but overall it has good performance. I have had my 1st toshiba over 3 yrs.

i personally am a big HP fan when it comes to computers.

I honestly believe that every once in awhile every company can make a lemon and I do not believe that Dell is any exception. But I have had a good run over the last 10 years with the two dell computers that I have purchased. A minor problem with the first battery overheating that was quickly fixed by Dell under warranty is about all the problems I have had.

All my computers are HP ... Love them but am interested in trying a MAC next time around
