I can't even decide which is better but I use both. I have a Kindle app on my ipad that just makes it soo easy to read, especially in the dark, lying in bed, easy to handle, and fast to purchase the book without making a trip to the store. But I will still also grab a book from the library if i see a good one and read it the 'old fashioned' way. Maybe because its free? lol. I like/ use both, id say equally :)

I am so sick of books ha ha. I have to do alot of reading before my tests, don't wanna, I am tired. But short messages on tablet, books for homework preferably in the paperback book
-
I still like the paperback book. There's nothing like the esthetic feel of a paper book in your hands.
-
I love to read and I started reading paper back books a long time ago, but now that they came out with E readers I prefer to use my kindle now when I read. Not only is it convenient to take with you but it also give you a number of books to read. Electronic books have my vote.

I got a Nook for my birthday and figured I would hate it. I knew I would miss the "book" feel, but not to hurt my husband's feelings, I gave the Nook a try. Honestly I love it! It's been almost a year and I don't miss the "book" feel at all. I would have to say I choose the Nook.
-
Paperback. I'm on the computer so much, reading electronic news and emails and whatever, that when I want to read and relax, the feel of a book in my hands is so much more real. :)
-
I would rather have both, but if I had to choose just one I would go with the electronic books just because they are more convenient and it is more fun to read it instead of flipping through pages
-
If I had to choose it would have to be paperback. Hard cover is even better.
-
I still enjoy a real paper book. I have a room full of them and probably always will. Short of burning the house down it would be hard for me to lose my books. An Ipad, much easier to lose the content on it. I know that one day real books will no longer be printed as we run out of paper but for now, give me a book in my pocket.
-
i prefer the e book, because im into computers and computers are the forefront of technology
-
I was thinking about getting a kindle then I decided that I would rather hold the actual book and turn the actual pages - I may break down later and get me one of those but for now I enjoy old fashion book reading.
-
I could do either but a kindle has advantages with regards to weight, space and the fact that you store many books on one device. Also, you can bookmark it easier and you zoom in or adjust the size of the fonts.

PAPERBACK
-
I have been an avid reader for some time and never considered the difference until I purchased an e-reader. I then purchased a Kindle Fire and love the idea of having my bible on it. I gave the e-reader to my husband. I wouldn't trade my Kindle Fire for the world. :angel12:
-
I would read either, I got for Christmas a Kindle and love it. If I can and have the leisure for it I would read a paper especially if is very good or I cannot find the ebook for it. But I had already started getting the pdf and mobi before I had the kindle since pdfs are easy to read in computers and a flash drive is very easy to carry.
Now with the kindle it is the best, I am very torn between the 2, I have plenty of hardcopies at home, but I love the ebooks as well.
-
For me it is definitely paper back. I don't even have one of the electronic readers. I love the feel of a book in my hand!
-
definitely paperbacks.electronic is nice and convenient.but i like paper
-
I want the real book in my hand reading to me is a relaxing thing not something I want to do on a reader
-
paperback
-
call me old fashion but paperback for me :cat:
-
I read both. As a librarian, I didn't think I would like an e-reader, but I got one for Christmas from my husband. Turns out they are quite handy especially for reading in bed. No external lighting needed. And you can check out ebooks from your library....or buy them, of course. They are cheaper than a regular hardcover.
-
yea I love reading from both as well, I love the feel of changing the page on my book but I love that my fingers don't get as dirty with my kindle.
-
Text Books are always the best choice unless you are a traveler!
-
I will say, though, that this book is fun reading hands on! (:
Brent Weeks' The Black Prism
My book mark is only on the twelfth chapter! :o
-
I like paperback because computer screens give me migraines after a while.
-
i like going to the library and getting books they are so friendly and besides it is free. Would hate to buy a book on one of the electronic gagets and find out i have read it.
-
E-book for me.
-
I dont read to many books anymore!! but if I did I would prefer to read Paperback books over Electronic books, I spend enough time in front of my computer or tablet

Thank you so much for this topic - it is an ongoing discussion with my friends.
I love to read  and I love to read in bed. And just about anywhere else. Last time I went away I downloaded the book I was reading onto my iPad because it was a big heavy book and I didn't want to shlep it onto the airplane.
Well when I tried to read it on my iPad it just seemed so weird. And I couldn't get into a comfortable position holding it in bed. And I missed using my special bookmark :( And it's not something that I want to get used to either. Couldn't wait to get home to my "real" book.
But a lot of my friends like them. Go figure. :dontknow:
-
I love reading off my kindle fire because its so thin and I can just carry it everywhere. But if I already have a paperback of a book I want to read, ill read it from the paperback.
-
I don't mind reading online books now and then but all in all I prefer a good old in hand book.
-
I like paperbacks but here lately I have been reading ebooks, they are not so bad.
-
I use both paperbacks and my kindle. At one time I would have said paperbacks were better but lately it is so quick and easy to get any book I want on my kindle and many times for less money that I find myself using it more and more.
-
I just like to touch books so paperback guess Im still old fashioned.
-
I'm a big fan of paperbacks .. especially when I go on vacation .. that is when I have the time to read the most.
We just got a kindle fire so I can't wait to try out books on it.
-
If it was for college then I'mm pretty sure I'd go with ebooks since college books can be really heavy. But if it was just for normal everyday reading then I'd rather have the old fashioned paperback or hardcover book. Maybe I'm just a little paranoid about an ebook reader getting stolen while I'm on public transit.
-
I have both. My e reader is for work and I read books at home.
-
Since I am a writer, it would be paperback or hardback. Electronic books are okay but I prefer to have the paper in my hands.
-
I am not much of a reader at all but I still prefer the good old paperback !!! I do not like brightness on laptops reading i prefer reading on actual paper so feel this would be the same case reading a book
-
I like the old fashioned way to read a book. Paper back not electronic books. I might some day change my mind and try electronic books.
-
I like the convenience my kindle. I used to like both but I have a problem with my hand and find the e book easy to use.
-
I haven't read a book on a kindle yet.
I still get paper books from the library.
-
I agree, it is hard to choose between the two. I have books laying all around the house, but when I'm out and about and have to sit and wait for something it's convenient to use the e-reader on my phone. Since my phone is always with me Nd I rarely remember to grab a book on my way out the door I guess recently I've been using e-books more often than real, but if I am at home I tend to grab a paper book.
-
I have always preferred paper books, preferably hardback for their durability. I have never had any interest in using an ereader, because I prefer to have a hard copy of my book that I can use without any electronic device. I also enjoy audiobooks, preferably unabridged to get the whole story, so that I can listen to them hands free (allowing me to do other tasks while listening) and have good narration. Actually I prefer audiobooks to regular paper books unless they have a lot of illustrations that are really nice (ie Of Thee I sing) and even then I will still use audiobooks. For me an ereader would only make sense if I had no place to store the books.
-
I love my nook and I really don't miss books at all.
-
For some reason I tend to like reading more on my phone, if it is on computer I don't wanna mess with it as much, but on my phone I will scroll down and read messages more.
-
I am old school yet, I like old fashioned books and cd's stuff like that, not too far into the next big thing yet
-
I love my nook, so electronic books for me, plus before I would always have clutter from books that I would never re-read so..definitely electronic for me!!
-
I prefer to have an actual book. I don't really like to stare at a screen for hours on end reading something. I do read stuff electronically of course, but I don't read things that are anywhere near as lengthy as books.
-
I love my nook and wouldn't trade it for the world. I didn't think that I would enjoy it as much as I do. I love the fact that I can carry it in my purse and not have to carry around a big bulky book or paperback. With the nook I'm not apt to leave it behind like I do with a book as I have done that numerous times. :cat: :)
-
sorry i'm old fashioned i like normal books
-
I still prefer hardbound books. I use book. I guess it is what you are used to.
-
i prefer the good old regular books reading
-
neither I don't read too much except for articles or Wikipedia on the internet.
-
electronic...you can store hundreds of books in one place...imagine trying to carry around 100 paperbacks :P
-
I prefer paperback myself, I guess I am behind the times
-
I'm still old-school. I use the paper-made reading material.
