How many of you like to camp. Roughing it or in RV or tent, which?
-
I used to love to camp but not so much as I've gotten older. My husband still loves to camp and goes to Big Bend at least 2 times a year and primitive camps. No tent, just sleeping out on a cot. I've gone with him twice but I won't sleep out; I sleep on a foam mattress in the back of mu tahoe. lol Our 3 grown daughters and their families all love to camp. If we had an RV I'd sure go more.

Camping is fun. I use to go backpacking all the time, but work and other stuff has limited that over the last few years.
-
I love to camp as well. It doesn't matter if it's tent or RV camping. RV of course is always easier but with the right weather conditions I don't mind tenting it. I don't think I'd be able to sleep outside on a cot...there is something about having a roof over my head that makes me feel protected. Even if it's vinyl. Some of the best memories I have with my kids involve camping experiences. I wish we could do more of it.

I love to go camping and i love to sleep in a tent when i go,there is just something about the fresh outdoors and the smell in the air when you go camping..i love to roast hot dogs and marshmallowes on the fire and tell stories! :D

We have a pop-up camper. We camped more often when the kids were home.
It is so relaxing to be outdoors and to have no time schedule to follow.
We love sitting by the campfire.

I love to camp!! It doesn't matter how. It is just plain fun being outdoors!
-
We would like to get an RV someday. We like camping but don't want to rough it too much.
-
We always camp near the lake, we enjoyed it so much same our pug. He loves running around in a camp site.

I went once, in my 20s. Picture this, four girls in a pop up camper. We went to Canada to Quebec for one week. The campground was beautiful , swimming pool, horse back riding, tennis, the list goes on and on. We arrived, set up the camper, cooked out and sat around then went to bed excited for the next day. Got up and it was pouring, not rain, but pouring. So we sat in the camper all day, didn't want to leave the camp because of the heavy rain and not knowing the city. Long story short....it rained for 3 solid days! Can you picture 4 girls in their 20s, nothing to do all day, no room in the camper between the cloths, hair dryers, curling irons, etc. I thought we were going to kill each other, so before that happened we closed the camper and left for home. As we were still in Canada eating breakfast in a diner, the sun came out! Too late we still went home. That was my one and only camping experience! :BangHead:

-
i never liked camping
-
I've only been camping once, but it was one heck of an experience. Haha
-
I enjoy camping, but I've only gone in a tent. I'd love to go in an RV and be able to enjoy nature during the day and still be comfortable at night.
-
I am not quite sure, because I have only been camping once. It wasn't bad, at night on the beach, but in the morning, our tent was facing the sunrise, and we fried in that little tent. We ended up getting a hotel room immediately!! LOL! :crybaby2: :crybaby2:

I was offered to go on several camping trips. I almost went on one in the Washington State mountains. I backed down and declined the invitation. I declined the invitation because I was told that I would have to look out for the moose. Since, I had never seen a live moose before, I thought it was a small creature. Well, when I went to one of Washington State's museum and saw a stuffed moose, I saw that the moose was massive and larger than my automobile. Also, when I heard that a moose could out run and topple my car, even while it was moving, I decided that camping may not be for me.

I love camping when I was little. I would like to take my children camping, but they do not want to stay outside.

cowgirl2116 - I actually went as far as seriously considering making camping a lifestyle. I traveled across the country scoping out Campgrounds that had year round service. Stayed the night at them and scoped the area's out for work and schools for my children. I would be living in an RV full time. I am still in awe over the concept and often touch base with the thought. The idea of having everything at my fingertips and activities for my kids to do all the time really entices me. I can picture it..wake up...get the kids to school...work out, hit the shower than spend the day at my laptop or doing the grocery shopping...kids come home, make dinner...they are busy...visit with friends, camp fires...The only thing keeping me from making my dream a reality was a judge...she wouldn't let me leave the state with my kids. Since I live in Illinois Full-time camping isn't a possibility. Probably a good thing for now...I wouldn't know how to deal with all 3 kids home sick from school in such tight quarters.

my mom would go camping every weekend with her friends and us kids had to go with and i never liked it and i still dont but it is a nice relief to get away from the city for a while.

I love to camp in a tent but I need an air mattress. We take all kinds of good food and grill out.

I used to love backpacking and camping. Now if I went camping it would be in an RV with air conditioning, satellite TV, and a ceiling fan.
Sad, isn't it?

You call that camping??!! LOL.
We see a lot of people in the campgrounds with their RV's set up just like you said bremer51! I don't think they ever step foot out of the RV.

Husband and I both love camping. We have camper I havent tried camping with tents but sure looks like fun.

My  husband loves camping. Me not so much. We have had campers and small Rv's. I enjoy going in the RV's. I like to be able to give the little people baths and pop them into bed, they sleep so much better. My husband worked as a game warden for awhile. So we did a lot of camping then to be near where he had to work. :dog: :bunny: :fish:

I actually want to try and rough it in a tent this year!!
-
I love the out doors and walking in the woods, along the beach, in the mountains.... But as much as I love being out in nature when night falls I want to be home in my bed. I've never wanted to camp out in it.

I love to camp! I used to do the primitive when I was younger. I purchased a 28ft TT about 5 years ago and started camping at this Campsite area that I can also store my RV. My truck is getting old and can't take the towing any longer. Need to get a new truck!! I would like to camp more often.!
