do you eat your heavy main meal at midday?
I switched to doing it that way and feel better, not "heavy" in the evening.
-
No, I eat by biggest meal in the evening. I'm at work midday, so a heavy, carefully prepared lunch really not an option. :dontknow:
-
Dinner time is definitely the main meal.
-
I'm going to try and switch to that. How is it working for you? Is it difficult? Do you snack in the evening?
-
We have been eating our main meal at 3 p.m. because my boyfriend has been on nightshift and his schedule is all messed up. Hopefully, he will go back to daylight soon and we will go back to an evening meal. I often eat a light meal late because I don't like feeling too full either.
-
Yes, we eat our heavier meal at mid-day - starting doing that a couple of months back because my brother and I cook and since our dad passed away, our mother comes over to eat then she just snacks during the afternoon and evening. And as you said, we all feel better since starting to eat this way.
-
I have a heavy breakfast, a light lunch and a lighter dinner. That way I burn all my calories before bedtime.
-
I know that it's best to not have it in the evening, but that's when I do. The time just works best for everyone to be able to prepare and eat it.
-
I don't like my main meal at midday because then I am tired and lethargic all afternoon. All I want to do is take a nap; impossible where I work (more impossible than in most places.) If I don't eat a substantial meal in the evening I tend to wake up hungry during the night--also something I don't like.
-
Because of our schedules we typically eat our biggest meal pretty late in the evening....once we are BOTH finally home at the same time.
If we are both working opposite schedules, and I work pretty late, I will have my big meal mid=day when I have my break between shifts
-
I eat a larger meal in the evening. I take a sandwich, etc. to work. It's too expensive to eat out for lunch regularly. After working all day, I look forward to a full hot meal with veggies, meat, side dish salad etc. Today, I ate at a buffet for lunch and I was bloated, full and sleepy all afternoon at work. I really did not over do it, but I did eat a fair amount. When I came home at dinner time I did not have much of an appetite at all. I like to come home with an appetite to enjoy a nice dinner.
-
yea I was never into eating breakfast so lunch time became my big meal a day and then something small at dinner.
-
Since I have to pack lunch, my heaviest meal is dinner, but I do try to eat before 7pm.
-
I usually eat heavy for lunch and sometimes breakfast. I find that eating light in the evening make for a better night sleep.
-
I have been so used to eating my main meal at evening, I guess I never thought about changing.
-
My main meal is switch between. Sometime night sometime day time. I don't eat breakfast so depend on how my work schedule go.
-
I actually do better to eat lighter, more frequent meals. In some ways I feel as if I'm eating more, but I have more energy throughout the night and lost a little bit of weight doing it this way.
-
I usually eat my main meal around 6:00 p.m. Sometimes I have a light lunch and I always eat breakfast because this is the most important meal of the day.

My main meal is in the evening.
I normally eat a very light breakfast
and a 400-500 calorie lunch.
But I do eat small snacks if I am going to
have a late supper.
-
I eat my big meal for dinner and I eat kind of small during the day for breakfast and lunch. If I end of eating a big breakfast I will skip lunch and treat myself to a snack until dinnertime which is the main meal
-
My biggest meal is dinner. I wish I could eat more during the day, but then I would still be hungry later.
-
My main meal of the day is dinner, but sometimes I eat a big breakfast, and then eat a small salad or something light for dinner.
-
I'm feeling and looking better since I have been eating my dinner earlier, between 5:00-6:00 pm. I'm not tired or bloated. When I go to sleep, I sleep better, as well.
-
i try to to eat it mid day, doesn't always work , but gives me time to burn it off and it has helped with my healthier lifestyle and workout regime to not consume so much later in the day/evening and then go to bed 8)
-
My main meal is dinner time.
-
I eat my main meal at lunch and eat light for dinner.
-
Mine is in the evening. If I didn't eat it then, I'd be up in the middle of the night hungry.
-
Depends on the day, but usually it's dinner unless I'm not in a rush and can take time out for lunch.
-
Actually, eating a good high protien breakfast, a substainsal late mid-day meal and a light dinner is an excellant way to drop pounds. And for that sluggish, sleepy effect a big meal gives you, is exactly why most European's take a siesta then go back to work. Plus it allows them to have a little family time with thier small/school age children as well. :cat:
-
My main meal is usually lunch. I don't always eat breakfast and I usually don't have much for dinner.
-
Yes my main meal is dinner! I eat little bit more then breakfast n lunch.
-
It just depends what I'm doing, but I try actually to space out smaller meals throughout the day.
-
It varies by day - sometimes I have a big breakfast and less for dinner, other times a big lunch and less for breakfast and dinner... Most often I'm heaviest at night after work though.
-

-
My big meal tends to be in the evening, but some days it is lunch. I honestly feel about the same either way. The only drastic difference in terms of the way I feel comes if I am eating less but eating more frequently (6-7 times a day).
-
I eat heavy dinner and light on lunch.
-
We have a kind of nontraditional eating pattern in our home (to American standards). We eat dinner pretty early, generally around 3 pm, and have a snack later , maybe 6-7 pm.
-
For me, afternoon... I barely eat anything in the morning (I dunno guess my body can't tolerate it), so I eat more on the afternoon
-
I like to eat a heavy meal in the morning or afternoon, so I can work it off.
-
We still eat our main meal in the evening because my husband isn't home during the day. I would love to be able to switch and do the big meal during the lunch hour. Sometimes if we eat out for lunch it happens that way and I feel much better.
-
I try and make my main meal lunchtime- sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't!! I hate eating late at night tho!!
-
My main meal is usually at supper time, because i usually will cook a meal, rather than just eat a sandwich.
-
dinner is still the biggest meal of the day.
-
Normally have largest meal early, tapering down during evening.
-
If i am going to have a heavy meal in the evening i like it about 5-6 pm. Since i am no longer working it works out better. I almost always brown bagged my lunch at work.

I don't have a "heavier" meal. They are all small portions. My husband and I do not eat refined carbs so we feel like we need more as soo many people do.
