Do you enjoy yard work or do it out of necessity?
-
i love working in my yard....but i recently moved into a place where the yard work is taken care of....kindof miss it!!
-
too hard to keep it nice with all the water restrictions
-
yes, i enjoy it very much. especially on the garden.
-
I love working in the yard too. My hubby owns a landscaping company and he's been teaching me a lot. 2 of my 3 kids really enjoy it too. Some of you may remember me talking about moving and having a huge backyard. A creek runs through it and there's a willow tree...a couple of oak tree's and plenty of space to garden. Last month our back yard flooded. You couldn't even see our fire pit. Last weekend I decided to clean up some of the stuff that had been washed up from it....you could see shards of glass everywhere back there. As it turns out we found junk...glass, towel bars, burried animals...we're thinking it may have been a city dump.... so much for putting a garden in there...I think even if we tilled the dirt up we'd just keep finding more garbage...so when I say this place is a dump..it's literal.

I love working in the yard its a huge stress reliever for me
-
I love working in my yard but, unfortunately, am only able to do so once every six weeks or so. I have been working between seventy and ninety five hours per week in addition to attending my children's functions. Tomorrow, for instance, I will be at a Lacrosse tournament from six in the morning until eight tomorrow night. After I finish a few posts here and point to click on a few other sites I will jump into work until six this evening when I get to attend my children's music recitals. I wanted to work out this morning but am catching up on sleep from the week before. Unfortunately my health takes a back seat to everything.

I do yard work out of neccessity, but I like how it looks so I keep on
-
Neither lol - I don't work in the yard because of my disabilities - makes it impossible - and its too hot in Florida so I have to get my sons to do it or let it go which means my yard isn't winning any beautification awards. :dontknow:
-
I love working in the yard. Whether is mowing grass or planting flowers I enjoy being outside and making my yard look good!
-
I do not like working in the yard. :peace:

I love yard work it's one of my passions. I grew up doing a lot of work in my family's plantation planting taros, breadfruits, bananas, yams,, and also cleaning the yard. I guess my upbringing was vital for survival and yard work for me is like a normal routine.
-
I not a big fan of working the yard. My wife would like the yard look better but I'm not really ambitious enough to do it I enjoy it when it is done. It looks good but I have a hard time getting started adding it. So it don't get done as often as it should.
-
Yes, I very much enjoy working in my front and back yard!!! but not on days like today, It was very humid and take make things even worse the bugs were out :BangHead:
-
I don't work in the yard to boring I'll mow the grass and that is about it.
-
SOMETIMES :star: :star:
-
I have never been a yard person .. I'm terrible with plants and flowers so I just choose not to do it.
-
I really do. I am getting older and find that in the last couple of years it is not as easy as it once was but still love to see what we can make grow. Ready to put in the garden today if the rain holds off.
-
I love to work in the yard. It's the most productive exercise regiment that I know of. However, it can be dangerous. I was weed eating yesterday when my foot slipped out from under me and a I fell. On the way down my arm hit a part of the weedeater and I took a big chunk out of my arm. Probably should have gone to the ER but I'm going to try to doctor it myself first. It doesn't hurt but looks nasty.

I love it especially in the summertime. I love to plant flowers and tend to them and cutesy up the yard with nice patio furniture and turn it into something beautiful. I really enjoy it. :D :D :D

I love working in my yard and take the chance to get out there whenever possible. The other day we got home, parked the car - I told my husband I'd be right in - that I had to check on my garden. Well almost an hour later he came out looking for me. I had gotten involved picking off suckers from the tomato plants and other similar little clean up tasks and the time had flown! That's what happens whenever I get out there - I forget to come back in, lol.

that sounds awful! Have you considered container gardening? That way you can take it with you too if you should move. There's a lot you can successfully grow in containers - tomatoes, peppers, pot eggplants, herbs of all kind - for example.
-
I enjoy working with soil and plants. It helps to sooth the mind.
-
I love to garden- it's a real stress buster for me! I grow flowers, fruits and herbs.
-
At this point in my life.....absolute necessity! I wish I could say I did it out of enjoyment, but it's not. Those never ending weeds....
-
Yes, it gives me a good workout and I get some fresh air/sunshine at the same time!
-
I enjoy working outside. but hated haveing to get up so early to do or waiting util just before dark otherwise it is just to bloomen hot already to be outside. Right now it is 98 degrees out side. But am just waiting unil the sun starts to go down and then i will be out again.
-
It really depends on the work and if I'm getting paid for it or not.
-
I still enjoy my yard work. Since I sit in front of a computer all day for work, it's refreshing to get outside to do some work in nature. I just finished planting my first garden and am hoping I'll get something out of it this year. Mowed my lawn with a new reel mower and really am liking it - cuts much easier than my first one.
I also like picking up new yard toys...er...tools to see which are the easiest ones to work with. Still like my first buy which was something called Gutter Sense - something to clean the leaves out of your gutters from the ground - soooo worth it and it's fun too (at least to me).
I'm starting to research a water filled roller and rain barrels for next year's toys...er...tools. ;D
-
It's not really my yard, it's my parents, so I don't really enjoy it cause I don't get to do things they way I would. Plus, it seems like every time I do something, they have to come over and criticize somehow. That's also the reason I hate doing indoor cleaning cause someone will point out that I missed a spot even though I've gone over that spot 10 times and then they do it, realize it isn't going away and sorta dismiss it without saying they were sorry for yelling at me.

Congratulations, on planting your first garden. I have always loooved working in my garden, no matter where I moved, I had to have a garden sometimes big and sometimes small.
I hope your garden brings you joy, I know mines brings me joy.
-
I love to garden- it's a real stress buster for me! I grow flowers, fruits and herbs.
Agreed ;D
-
 I grow in wheelbarrows & pots [flowers], to many critters in my yard (gofers & possums)... I have 3 kinda so cactus also and they flower beautifully... Yep; I really like to work in my yard.
-
Yes, I like working in my yard, especially when it is not too hot, or I have some shade to work in. Direct Sunlight or heat, I have to wait. But right now we have planted some tomatoes, onions, garlic, Kale, strawberries, and Cayenne Peppers, Jalopeno peppers, and some herbs. Plus I have some starters from seeds. Great and exciting when you see the seeds coming up and turning into plants.
-
I used to have a yard, and enjoy gardening, but right now, I dont have a yard.
-
Actually, this is one of the reasons I live in a condo. No yard work!
-
enjoy seeing things grow fun to work with flowers and vegetables
-
I don't enjoy yard work. I thought I would but I absolutely hate it.
-
I like to planing. But not cut branch.
-
I love my yard. Then are kind of my kids.
-
I do like working in our yard but only when its not too too hot out! lol Also its out of necessity lol cant have a jungle!
-
I just mow my lawn when I need to other than that I don't really garden
-
If I could skip the grass cutting and just do everything else, that would be a yes! :fish:
-
If I had a garden, it might be fun.
-
I love working in the yard but since I've started helping my mom take care of my Dad I don't have time.
-
I do sometimes, but I like to plant flowers and watch them grow. I mow the lawn for a good workout and that's it.
-
I love watching my hubby make our yard, flowers, and veggie garden look fantastic. :) I have a black thumb, I swear if I touch a plant it dies so I just telll him what kind of flowers I would like and he plants them lol
But when its all done,,,, its beautiful and we sit back and watch it grow day by day !!!!
-
It would be fun to do so when we have a yard!!
-
I don't enjoy it very much, but I like the results and depending on who I'm doing yard work with, it can be a lot more enjoyable.
-
If I have some time with nothing to do then I like listening to music and working in the yard, otherwise it is just a chore.
-
when its necessary yes..
-
I absolutely love working in the yard. To me, it's the best stress reliever there is. If I'm having a problem and can't wrap my brain around a solution, I go out to the back yard and start weeding or dead-heading and before you know it I have just thought of a way to fix my problem and come up with at least a way to get a handle on it. Best therapy ever if you can do it!!!!! :D
-
I thought I put in the last veggies a few days ago but found a new nursery and just HAD to get a few things. Including an extra Japanese eggplant as insurance. They are SO good on the grill. Yum!
-
I love working in my back yard, I just wish that there weren't so many water restrictions, you kind of need water to make things grow, and I am definitely not going to zero scape, that sucks when you have kids!
-
DO I LIKE WORKING IN MY YARD YES VERY MUCH SO THAT MY QUIT TIME TRIMMING THE HEDGE'S PUTTING MULCH AROUND FLOWER IT'S GREAT FEELING
-
I maintain my yard for my family and guest to enjoy, but I don't completely enjoy doing yard work. My yard use to be even busier, but as I got lazy I found less water draining plants and less high maintenance solutions.
-
I hate working in the yard. It's not even my yard. I work on other people's yard...like my aunt and mother in law. I do it cuz my hubby does it and I get dragged into it. I wouldn't mind doing it if I got paid to do it.
-
the only thing i like doing in my yard is planting flowers and watching them grow
-
I enjoy working in my yard. But lately have not been able to work in it as much as I would like to. Back pain and other pains stop my quality of doing things I always enjoyed. It's a bummer.
-
I like gardening. The only problem is it is extremely hot (Mid 90) degrees and I can't stay out very long in the heat. I've noticed when I watered my vegetable garden, it is absorbing it as fast as i water it.
-
Yes and no. I don't really like it but it is a necessity like you mentioned. But I do like the yard looking good and it does have to be done. So there is a since of satisfaction that comes after working in the yard.
-
I don't, I really dislike working in the yard. :-[
-
I do like working on our yard. I dont do much exercise. Working on the yard helps keep me in shape and very productive too.
-
I Like Working In Other Peoples Yards. I Can Make More Money That Way
-
I use to love it. But the older I get the less I like it.
-
no no and no thankfully my spose does i help but hot sweat dripping into my eyes is not my cup of tea in the spring inside starting nursery plants more my style
