Any ideas of where to purchase wholesale things to sell on Amazon? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know but I make more on ebay or Craigslist than I think I could on Amazon, though. I might have to look into it,

I have never used Amazon, only Ebay and Craigs List.... is it worth it?

My brother tried to do that a few years ago and ended up getting some fraudulent wholesale items from China, so be careful.

I think some people buy in bulk to get free shipping, etc. Then they turn around and list those items for a higher price on Amazon or eBay. You can also use a search engine to learn how to drop ship which is selling something online and then paying for it and having it shipped directly from the wholesaler to your buyer. There is risk; however, in drop shipping because you might find that the item you sold is no longer available for purchase. It's also incredibly important to provide a tracking number for your buyer as a way of covering your own rear end.

I am a member of a group teaches you HOW to make money selling items on eBay.
We have software and coaching. It is fun to do......especially when my phone goes "KaChing" when I make a sale.
As sherryinutah mentioned, it is important to provide the tracking number. We teach you how.

Thanks for the ideas, so far. I have sold books only so far but yes I do make a bit of chaching. I'd like to know more about the selling group but I know it's hard to stay within the rules of posting to let me know what that group is. Hmmm... :dontknow:

You just have to look around for warehouses and discount stores in your area. We have a couple places out this way, but I don't sell them on amazon, because by the time they took their cut probably wouldn't make any money, but garage sales, you can find good finds and sell on ebay.

Are there any outlet or overstock stores in your area? Especially outlets unique to your area might be a great source of products to sell. Also, thrift stores and rummage sales would be a second choice.

I use to do that. Just google whole sale companies and contact them to be a whole sale distributor. Pick a niche and go with it. Be very careful on the shipping. I found myself not charging enough to ship and not making any money on it. Research being a drop shipper. You sell items for other companies and they ship the items to the customer. Its pretty cool! Good luck

Thanks for all of the tips.

Which one is the best?

my mom owns a business wo i know what wholesale is, but i was never able to get any items at wholesale to sell and make a profit, i think it is illegal, only to people who are invited

I Usually Go To Estate Auctions And Get So Much For So Little. Then I Sell It On Ebay. I Make Some Profit :peace:

I don't know either, but I would think it's hard to get a market on wholesale things, because more likely than not a thousand other people are problem doing the same thing and your profits will be very slow coming and thin.

You could start by selling old things you don't use. Then look for cheap items/good deals/bulk sales, etc.

Drop shipping can be profitable if done correctly based on what I've heard, but I don't know how it could be done on a place like Amazon that no longer pays their sellers immediately. Amazon only pays you every two weeks. With drop shipping you must pay the drop shipper the wholesale price of the item out of your profit BEFORE they ship your item to your buyer. I don't think amazon pays until you have actually shipped the item which would present a problem for potential drop shippers there. With the way they are set up now a drop shipper there would probably have to have large line of credit to pay their dropshipper to ship the item and then wait the two weeks for payment to pay the drop shipper the wholesale amount.
I spoke to a rep at Amazon in the Sellers dept and he had never even heard of drop shipping which to me isn't a good sign. I think a better bet for drop shipping would be a place that pays you immediately as soon as the buyer buys the item (ie Ebay [They will release your money once you have reached their criteria of at least 25 US based sales equalling at least $250 in gross sales, an account in good standing and being on the site 90 days or more. This is for security reasons. Until you reach their criteria you could just sell items around the house or do arbitrage to make sales] or the like) so that you can pay your drop shipper as soon as possible without a credit line and have access to your profits immediately.
