I just changed pharmacies THINKING it would be better.
Well, I was sure surprised when the cost of my prescription was DOUBLE.
I had been paying half the price for YEARS.
I am switching IMMEDIATELY to another pharmacy.
This is "exhausting" + exasperating.
I have had to change pharmacies about four times in the last few years.
I feel like a pharmacy inspector.
"no, you're not good enough ....no you're not good enough....etc."

I don't know if you have a Med-Fast pharmacy in your area, but they are good.

I recall catching a news story not too long ago where they found pharmacies within a certain radius of a person's home charged widely differing prices for the same prescription - from $20 up to $200 for the same prescription - was unbelievable.
I think the report mentioned there was an app developed that will show you prices at different pharmacies in your area for the drug you are looking for to save money...but I can't recall what that app name was. I also don't know if it only works in major cities or all over.
You might want to try searching for such an app - if you find it, it might help you do the leg work to find the best price for your prescription in your area.

It's too bad people need to rely on medication and pharmacies to feel well. personally speaking, THEY ARE ALL THIEVES and can only stay in business because doctors continue to write prescriptions!!!! So, I guess you can say I have no love for any of them!!!! Sorry you are having such problems!!!!

I didn't realize that pharmacies could charge different prices for the same drugs. I know insurance plans vary with pricing. I will have to look for that app.

I know what you mean, I get prescribed meds for ADHD and you have to ask them directly at the store what the prices are, can't even call or anything. Exhausting to price shop.

If you take medicine it can be a full time job finding the lowest price on things.

Why don't you try calling the pharmacies close to you and ask how much they charge for the meds you take. Then go to the cheapest one. I have to agree with you, they can be a major ripoff, but the sad thing is when a person needs regular medication they know they have got you. It's really sad how they can take advantage.
