Title: Old fashion way or technology?
Post by: svetick on June 17, 2013, 11:59:51 am
Has anyone notice less people are visiting libraries and checking out books? Same way going to blockbuster to pick up movies? Or write letters to your loved ones? And do one and so forth.... Now technology replaces almost anything to make is more convenient to access things: you can now download books through your iPads or kindle withought going to the library, set up Netflix or request movies from blockbuster at home, and forget about writing letter, now adays you can simply text a person to find out how they are doing:),,,, technology is taking over...but alot of things I prefer to do old fashion way, I've never used a dryer to dry clothes, that's a waste of energy, just tie a rope where is convenient and hang clothes to dry, I guess I grew up old fashion way and I love it, I don't even use a dishwasher, prefer washing dishes myself:) anyone else are old fashioned?:)

I'm VERY happy to read a BOOK.  I enjoy putting them all on my bookcases and would rather have the hardcover of a book any day.  It's been years since I saw the inside of a library.  Used to go with my kids, but they're all grown up now, and I'd much rather have a copy of the book itself than borrow one.  We used to hang our clothes out to dry, too.  Unfortunately, today, living in a community with an "HOA" you are not allowed to "hang your clothes out to dry" so you better have a dryer.  Washing dishes?  I wash the pots, pans, cupcake tins, but the rest goes in the dishwasher.  Oh, and I can't live without e-mail, LOL.  Writing letters is nice but that takes stamps and lots of time to get to the person you're writing to.  E-mail is much quicker and easier.

Maybe I'm just lazy, but I go for the technology solutions every time.

I like both. I mean I do love new technology but their are certain stuff that I prefer using the old fashioned way. Like I still buy predominately more video game discs instead of downloading them. I prefer reading an actual book as to downloading it. But on the other hand I love being able to stream thousands of movies to my laptop. I like being able to get directions to anywhere on my GPS.

I enjoy technology, and I think it is a plus to look for them.  I want an iPad, but it may take a while.  I have a Kindle Fire and an android tablet in addition to my laptop.

it is not going to get old-fashioned anymore. I constantly hear talk about RFID chips to be implanted in people. it is known as "the Mark of the Beast"

I like technology also and I often think when my cellphone goes down and the storms come what would I do if I did not have a book lying around to keep my nerves together. I think we should still have some old fashion items on hand because our future children need to see some of the past as well as the future.
