Title: Coffee
Post by: gbabesmom on July 22, 2013, 05:55:57 am
My mom told me how to make a good cup of coffee. In the cup add your sugar or whatever you use then add cream and then coffee. It mixes great and I think it tastes better. Does anyone make their coffee like that?  BTW I like my coffee sweet and light. My dh calls it dessert coffee.

I do the creamer 1st, then the coffee, then the sugar....not sure what difference the order makes.

Coffee first then creamer, then sugar if needed...

I don't usually drink coffee. If I need a little kick I grab a pepsi or a dr. pepper. But on the occasion when I do I either drink it black or add a little flavored creamer, like vanilla, to it.

I got to have my fuel in the morning. I pre mix with sugar and creamer before I pour the coffee. It mix faster and less stirring.

I don't see how a cup of coffee can taste any different than if you put coffee in the cup first than the creamer or sugar (sugar substitute) A cup of Coffee is a cup of coffer not mater the order of how its made.

I don't drink coffee.  Don't need another thing to be addicted to!

I usually drink my coffee black, but the cream and sugar (plus an envelope of instant hot chocolate) added makes for a yummy and quick pick-me-up in the middle of the afternoon.

Mine has to be black. I can't stand any flavor added to it.

This is how I do as well. I think it's the same either way though.

I believe my grandmother would make her coffee with lots of creamer and no sugar. Plus I think it can depend on your tastes, since there are so many gourmet coffees with so many diffferent flavors. Some have Hazelnut, vanilla, you name it. But as for me if I drink anything with coffee it would likely be a mocha latte.

Most coffee's really stink. I have bought myself a Keurig machine and then started drinking Green Mountain coffee. I prefer the Double Black Diamond extra bold or the Dark Magic Extra Bold. I always drink my coffee black with no sugar. And believe me, those Green Mountain coffee's do not need anything. They taste great.

I also make it that way, esp. when I'm getting a cup to go from a store. That way I don't have to use a spoon / straw just to stir the mixture. I also heard that there is less chance to scorch the cream by adding the coffee last. You see, when you add coffee to the cream, there is more cream which draws away the heat from the coffee without scorching the cream; the other way around there is more of the hot liquid so the resulting solution is still very hot and can more easily scorch the cream.

I don't drink coffee myself, but I do love the smell of fresh coffee in the morning. My husband uses his espresso maker and does put his sugar in the cup first.

Your method is worth trying.  I drink iced coffee - and will try your way.
Thanks for the tip.

Sound good, I'd try it sometime.  My friend told me to put ice cream in the cup of coffee and it taste good too.  But I use to drink mocha frap from Starbucks.

Same here, I'm not sure if it actually adds to the taste or not.

I   coffee, most of the time I drink it black, sometimes I add honey & cinnamon to it.  Once in awhile I'll use creamer, depends on my mood...

I don't like it too sweet and am not a big fan of the flavored creamers. Ultimately to me it has more to do with the type of coffee and how it's brewed than the order that I add sweetner and cream. Ran out of creamer recently and had to use some sweetened canned milk which took a while to blend but actually ended up tasting pretty good.
I have friends from Tennessee that make sweetened iced tea though and swear that you have to add the sugar while it's hot to get the flavor right.

I have never been a coffee drinker.  It's ironic that I like the smell but not the taste.

I used to like my coffee just like that "light and sweet" but somehow I got out of that habit and now only drink it black with 1 tsp. sugar!!!

I add those things sugar and cream, but I pour my coffee first than sugar and cream.  Maybe I will try it your way to see if the taste is any different.

I wait until its poured. I tried maple syrup in it, no sugar avail. I don't trust the fake sugars. I like the new sugars made by plant besides sugar canes.

I have always made mine by pouring the coffee in the cup, than the cream and than the sweetener. I am not sure if it is the best way
but it is the way I have always made it.
