Title: My shopping experience at B... B..
Post by: elysee24 on September 30, 2013, 04:42:46 pm
The other day I went to B... B.. to pick up a printer we ordered online.
Honestly we hadn't got anything from there for so long and this time was only because printer we wanted was on sale.
Store pick up wasn't too hard but a bit shocking to me.
The associate was kicking the printer box for the box to move right in front of me.
When other competitor stores are all offer to help customers to take the items out to customers' cars. B... B... didn't.
Suddenly I remembered why I hadn't shop there!! Because the price and the customer services.
Guess I won't be back there too soon!!

Well, since all these big companies have drastically cut back hours it generally makes your job pretty horrible in retail. Tons of work for near minimum wage, lots of pressure from management to still provide "great service", and just dealing with assholes all day makes it tough. Still not an excuse for kicking a printer box to move it (eventhough they are padded inside), but since I work in retail too I can probably understand the general lack of care. Still no excuse though...you put up a strong front on the floor and keep your true feelings between coworkers while not on the sales floor :)

Although I will agree that in general, Best Buy's customer service has been absolute crap for a really long time now. Way before the economy tanked.

You should report that to their customer service department.

Dealing with Best Buy for anything is a big mistake.  Years ago when the DVR first came out I purchased one from Best Buy.  Something went wrong with it within 30 days.  I went back to Best Buy and they gave me such a hard time, but they would not give me a new one yet it was within their warranty and to have it repaired was costing more than the DVR.  I swore never again would I buy from them.  Best Buy has always been about the money not their customers.

Was she actually KICKING the box or moving it with her foot?  And anymore most places do not offer to carry it out for you unless YOU ask them.

I quit shopping there over 10 years ago when I got burnt on a new, expensive computer I bought my daughter when she left for college.  It had quit working after only a few months.  I had bought the extended warranty so I took it to the "geek squad".  They couldn't fix it at their store so they had to send it off.  It was gone for over two months.  They sent it back in the same shape it was when I first dropped it off.  Then they had the nerve to say something had been spilled on it.  Nothing had been spilled on it.  In the meantime, I had to buy my daughter another computer because it is hard to go to college without a computer now days.  I took the computer to someone else who fixed it in no time.  I had belonged to their Rewards Program (that I spent $10 to join).  I sent them my membership card back in the mail and told them to take me off their customer list because I won't be back.  I have not been back there since.  Ironically, my new son-in-law now works there.  He has offered me his employee discount to use for purchases but I still refuse to give them any more of my money.

This saddens me. I really like them, but their customer service isn't what it used to be. I think it's a sign of the economic times we live in.
