My college is holding a job fair in a few days, so I've been going through my wardrobe to find some work casual clothing that will be appropriate. I have some shirts that will work, but I'm hoping some of you might have other ideas that would help me.
I get overheated very easy, especially indoors, to the point that I start sweating while I'm just sitting down or watching TV. Because of this, it's really hard finding things to wear when the biggest trend is layering. I also don't enjoy wearing skirts, so that sticks me with slacks.
My main shirts are either short sleeve or a wide band tank top. Any other suggestions or styles I should try. Maybe things to pair with shirts for a more professional look.
I also need shoes. I can't wear ballet flats cause they just fall off my foot, but I'd love to know any other flat to maybe an inch high heel shoes that can use. Also, people have suggested boots but I don't know what type of boots to wear with slacks.
Pictures or brand names are appreciated so I can see what you're suggesting.
One friend suggested a Bolero Shrug. It looks like it would pair well with my tops. Would anyone else wear one to work?

I am probably better at telling you what not to wear. I work in a business casual environment during the day but people push that to the limits and are threatening the comfortable wear rules. You should not wear flip flops, tennis shoes, ripped jeans, skirts that are more than five inches above the knees, tube tops or anything that exposes the mid-drift. Gaudy make-up should be avoided. Clothes should be clean and not worn more than three days in a row. You might think that these rules are somewhat common sense but I see these infractions every day. Hair should be conservative and neat. This would be appropriate for a office/work environment. Wearing any of the afore mentioned would be appropriate at Hot Topic.

I nice suit or a top with a grey or black skirt not too short will be fine.

Just wear nice, semi-casual clothes that are conservative. I recommend a skirt that comes down to the knee paired with some closed-toe sandals. Pair it with a fitted classy shirt. Make sure the shirt isn't too tight. If you wear jewelry, remember less is more.

Thanks for your opinions. Unfortunately I already know all this or can't wear it. Skirts drive me nuts so I don't see the point wearing something that's going to make me uncomfortable when I'm trying to impress people.
Shoes are shirt are more what I'm concerned with cause unless there is another type of pants that can be worn, there's really nothing else for me wear as bottoms.
I've never seen any close toed sandals so that atleast gives me something to look out for.

Look at what others working for the company are wearing. Try to imitate them with your own personal style. If you are hired, try the same routine.
