I wish I had kept the web site that had this info anyhoo the site said every night after everyone has gotten ready for bed or in the morning to take a towel and dry the walls and the tub. well we tried it and that's all it takes, no more nasty mildew and no yucky cleaning chemicals, the shower and tub just stay clean this way

I appreciate that tip although it is hard for me to do that considering I have folks who seem to think it is fine to take showers at all hours of the night. I have found that if your bathroom is small and when you use harsh cleaners the odor remains for a long time you can use baking soda to clean. It is cheap and it will also eliminate any smells you may have lingering. It is excellent for mold and mildew, too!

It's easier just to wipe everything down with a sponge right after you take a shower. That's what I do, and it has the same result even if you don't shower every single day.

Whoever takes the last shower is always susposed to spray the shower down with a spray bottle containing shower spray in it. That works pretty good for our master bath. The other bathroom hardly gets used since we have no children at home anymore. The shower or tub in there is only used when we have overnight company, which isn't too often. It has ceramic tile on the walls in that bathroom and back when we had kids in the house it was a pain to keep the mold and mildew off! Don't guess sprays were available then, or I just didn't know about them lol. We put a vent in there and it helped too.

We had a major problem with mold and mildew through the whole house. We got a dehumidifer and let it run 24/7. Takes care of 98% of our problem
