Post by: ktheodos on November 14, 2013, 04:00:13 am
I heard about one school district not doing it b/c "there isn't enough time in the day"...thoughts about that?

I do not see anything wrong with that. I think saying the pledge should not be mandatory.

It is a good thing for saying the pledge of allegiance in schools.  My grandson was in a Veteran's Day program at school, and they said the "pledge of allegiance", followed by "All students will be successful".  Because of one person, they are ready to change it when it has been happening for many years.  It is really stupid! :bad: :bad: :bad:

Lets face it, what are we teaching our children of the next generation about our principals of being an American if we don't say the pledge. It is our way of life stated in a paragraph. How long does it take to say a paragraph? We are all taught by repetition. Let us not forget who we are!

My 4 year old says it every morning in his pre-k class. Yes, I think there is enough time every morning to say the pledge.

They need too say the pledge every day because forgetfulness is the easiest thing there is, and little ones don't know why is it a protective togetherness attitude tool for US.

Well, since the length of a day hasn't changed anytime in the past gazillion years, I say there's PLENTY OF TIME IN A DAY.  Saying the Pledge of Allegiance was the FIRST thing we used to do in school BEFORE our lessons got started for that day.  What that school district is doing is making excuses for political correctness - that being, they don't want to "offend" anyone.  As far as I'm concerned, if having a sense of patriotism for your country "offends" you, maybe you're just in the wrong country!

They're teaching the students of today how to be good little serfs and dumbing them all down to the point where they just won't care what happens.  They want a "herd," to be led along by their noses, not question authority - just follow and shut up!

It DISGUSTS me that the entire 90 seconds it takes to say the pledge "takes too long"..... As a kid, we said it EVERY morning... we need to go back to the reason we are here....

I don't think theres anything wrong with saying the pledge of the legenance because it helps us recognize who we are. :)

We said it every morning when I was in school. Honestly it doesn't take up any time at all. Saying that it "takes too much time" is ridiculous.
