Title: Steve Mcnair - Dead at age 36
Post by: mc1962 on July 04, 2009, 06:24:22 pm
Steve LaTreal McNair (February 14, 1973 – July 4, 2009), nicknamed Air McNair, was an American football quarterback, best known for his years with the Tennessee Titans.

McNair played college football at Alcorn State, where he won the 1994 Walter Payton Award as the top player in NCAA Division I-AA. He was drafted third overall by the NFL's Houston Oilers in 1995. He became the Oilers' starting quarterback in 1997, their last season in Houston, and remained the starting quarterback for the Titans during their first eight years in Tennessee. After the 2005 season, McNair was traded to the Baltimore Ravens, with whom he played for two seasons before retiring.

McNair led the Titans to the playoffs four times, and the Ravens once, and came very close to winning Super Bowl XXXIV with the Titans. McNair was selected to the Pro Bowl three times, and was All-Pro and Co-MVP in 2003

On July 4, 2009, McNair was found dead of multiple gunshot wounds, along with a female victim whom police did not immediately identify but confirmed not to be McNair's wife. The condominium was one which McNair frequented, in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. Nashville police spokesman Don Aaron confirmed that police were called to a residence and found McNair and the woman shot to death inside. Titans owner Bud Adams released a statement regarding McNair.

“ We are saddened and shocked to hear the news of Steve McNair's passing today. He was one of the finest players to play for our organization and one of the most beloved players by our fans. He played with unquestioned heart and leadership and led us to places that we had never reached, including our only Super Bowl. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family as they deal with his untimely passing.

Yeah I saw the news on yahoo. I watched him play a few times and in the super bowl....he was a very good player. I didn't know how old he was 'till i read what mc1962 posted. He was only a month older than me. I wonder what happened? I wonder if that woman was married and had a jealous husband who shot McNair? I guess we'll find out soon.

what a shame is right.i didnt really get into his career personally, but NFL superstar Steve Mcnair dead at 35 is not a surprise. what makes it intresting is that they found the murder weapon on a dead female in another apartment.

I fell sorry for his family. What was he doing dating someone 20 and he was 36 plus married with children. Were he and his wife separated or what? Wrong is wrong is doesn't matter if you are famous or not. What a legacy to leave his family.

You start dating a 20 year old when you're still married, and bad things happen...

Celebs are stupid, they think ther above everything. He should have never been in that perdicament. But i also dont think he should have lost his life over it though.
