homemade desserts taste much better than "store bought".
(Philadelphia) cream cheese makes a nice frosting.
homemade dressings can be creative and delicious too - "a little bit of this/ a little bit of that"
Lemon or lime make a nice salad dressing.
So does walnut oil and/or coconut oil.
we had homemade lasagna yesterday.

Just about everything i cook is made from scratch. When i grew up we did not have all these boxes and frozen meals. Most of them taste funny too me. i guess i will be doing homemade the rest of my life. I really like too cook and have been cooking since i was 10. And am now almost 71.

me too, love to cook and would always prefer this as to eating out - also, do not care for all the junk sold - if your gramdma ate it - that's a good bet you can too - if you stick with grown foods, healthier and no weight issues either... :silly:

I do my cooking from scratch, so they say. We didn't have all the box foods that are so readily available, and I really don't like the taste of them anyway. I was raised on a farm and my mom always made bread,(yum). I like to make dessert breads, but my meals are usually boiled or baked potatoes, meat, and vegetables with a small dessert.

I need to take the time to learn how to cook. I get to dependent on frozen meals and top ramen. I just ate some, I think it was some kind of tortialla soup, my aunt made and it was really good.

homemade food made from scratch is a way to go. a lot cheaper and more nutritious for you. You know whats in it.

I rotate meals I make as homemade to ones partially prepared for me depending on my mood for the day. And sometimes others take their turn to cook, which is always nice.

Now that I'm retired I've gone back to making almost everything. I used to buy all my husbands cookies and cakes but now I make them all. They taste so much better.

I love to cook. A couple of years ago, I grew squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, bellpepper, and jalapeno peppers. I'd love to get a garden going again. Fresh steamed squash is so good.

There is just something about homemade cooking that you just can't replaced. Not only it tastes a whole lot better, But it saves you a lot of money. Not only that it made you feel a whole lot better about yourself. Don't you agree?

I make chili and soups from scratch but my cakes come from a box. The last time I made a cake from scratch it looked more like a frisbee, it was so flat.

I'm very lucky - my Mom lives around the block and she likes to cook.
We get home cooked meals just about every night.

i love home made food, i think it also tastes better too

I do a lot from scratch and a lot of semi homemade. The more I can do for us the better it is, healthier and cheaper. Plus the flavor is usually better. We also have big gardens, all of our flower beds are now garden areas, we do still have flowers too. But a lot of the vegetables grow at different times than the flowers. We have also made some of our side yard garden too, so I freeze lots of extra stuff in the summer for use all winter. I also have a garden window that I grow most of my herbs in all year round.

I love to cook, and make meals from scratch, saves money, I control the ingredients and it is a win- win in my opinion.

Well, homemade you know what ingredients is in it :turkey:

I am making more homemade stuff since the closest place I can get food outside at lunch is not that great. I do enjoy baking.

I love to cook. We don't eat out except when we are out of town. My husband have some health issues when he eats foods that had lots of salt. Most foods in the restaurants and fast foods are salty.
-
I agree homemade anything is much better! I do lot of homemade cooking in my home and it's much cheaper than going out to eat all the time and healthier too.
-
I love cooking from scratch but I just am not that creative.

I agree that homemade food taste so much better than takeout. For me, I seem to stay full and satisfied after I eat homemade food. As for takeout, I'm often hungry again in about 1 or 2 hours later.
In the last few years, I've been cooking more and watching Food Network TV. You can learn a lot from watching those different cooking shows.
Now I cook my big meals on Sunday and eat the remaining left-overs for lunch throughout the week.
