I had one but don't remember having that problem. But you have to remember there was probably a lot of pulling of your jaw, and lips. If it doesn't go down by tomorrow I would call my dentist. I would also apply an ice pack to see if that might help. Best wishes!

i have had four root canals in my life.  it sounds like there may be some brusing which can be an issue.  however you really want to make sure you dont get a dry socket i also ended up with one of those and they had to place a drain in it.  i would say that if it doesnt seem to be getting any better to give them a call they will probably have you come in so they can make sure everything is going ok.  oh and by the way never have a tooth crowned that hasent already had a root canal i had one done 4 months ago and still cant eat on that side of my mouth and sometimes it hurts when i drink hot and cold.  apparently this is normal because all it takes is a fraction of an inch of the actual tooth to be exposed at the gum line or right under the gum line for it to cause you problems.

I don't like root canals, especially if the tooth is going to come out eventually because it shouldn't have been
try to saved to begin with.

this one was in the front but apparently the dr had to go 24 cm to find the end of root which they say is a bit far ,i will never ever have another one dont care if it is right smack in the front of my mouth
