Title: Hi everyone
Post by: tjshorty on May 01, 2014, 08:20:05 pm
I am so tired of being cold.  I keep thinking it's not going to last to much longer.  But the trueth is we still stand a chance of a freeze until may 10th.  Just 9 more days and hopefully the garden will get planted.   ;DThen it's just dealing with the wind.  We haven't had much wind the past couple years.  It sure is making up for it this year.  Well.  Time for this ole girl to go to sleep.  Have a good night.

I dont have winter clothes. Where I live the average temp at night is around 70.  Some nights it gets to mid 60s...then I just put on long pants.

Hello!  The days are starting to slowly get warmer!  It has been a long, cold, snowy winter here in northeastern KY.  So glad the warm, pretty weather is on its way.  We will still have some cooler days/nights to come.  Usually after we get through "blackberry winter", the weather gets and stays warm.  That will come when the blackberries start to bloom later this month.  I use to love listening to my grandparents talk about "redbud winter", "dogwood winter", "blackberry winter", etc. when the weather would cool down in the springtime.

I used to love listening to my grandmother talk about that, too, gaylasue, and other old stories and superstitions about weather and countless other subjects.  She passed away in 1976, but for a moment when I just thought of her, I could see her face in my mind's eye.  Thanks for reminding me of those stories around the wood stove.
