Title: Camping
Post by: anotherlaujgirl on July 07, 2014, 09:24:20 pm
I'm missing out on this year's family camping. I have a quiz due that weekend.

Anyways, is anyone else going camping this summer?

I don't camp, I'm afraid of the out doors and specially sleeping out doors. I did send my daughter with some family members to Lopez lake and they stayed 3 days. She had a blast of a time. I was glad for her.

We love to go camping. We have a very small cabin in a large recreational area and we try to get out to camp as much as possible.

I'm not a fan of camping. When we finally get to go on vacation I like to be comfortable so we go with hotels or motels.

We used to camp when the kids were young.  We have great memories from those camping trips.

We didn't go far, but being outdoors and having bonfires, bean bag games, hiking.......wonderful!!

Ah, yes.  Camping used to be my favorite activity. My college room mate and I traveled everywhere, backpacked in the mountains and camped everynight.   Sadly, my idea of camping now is a giant winnebago with air conditioning, a Keurig coffee maker, and full-size refrigerator.  Yes, age changes things.

We will be camping at the end of July.  Our version of camping Im sure does not fit many.  I have girls who are afraid of bugs and any other creepy crawly thing

We have been trying to go out and do some camping, but every weekend it seems to be raining at some point or another during the day or night.

I have a hard time camping too. I feel like there's no privacy.

We just went camping over the 4th of July weekend. It really was wonderful staying in a tent and having campfires in the evenings. I love camping over a gas stove and I try to be brave and experimental with my dishes. The only thing I was slightly disappointed in was the mosquitoes - they were just rampant and we all got bitten to pieces. I took some lotion which I was really grateful for and everybody else used it also. My favorite thing about camping though is the people we go with. We get on really well with them and our children have the same interests. I'm sure in decades to come I'll look back on these memories with huge delight. In fact I already do!

I used to love to go camping, but the last time I did was a long time ago. Hubby was a guide and we went way up into the woods and on a high mountain with horses. But now my idea of camping in a camper. Or go to a motel.  The years creep up and now it is no longer fun sleeping on the ground.

Growing up I went to summer camp for a couple of years but never really liked it
i spent most of my time in the summer sailing we spent many days living on the boat . That was as close to nature as I wanted to get. I don't care for bugs, ants and mice etc  :rainbow: :rose: :peace:

When  I  get  a  chance  and no rain.  I pack  very  light  when I camp.  No  tent just a sleeping bag  a  the  basics.  Nothing like  getting back to nature.  It  gives  you  the felling  that I can almost  tackle  Mondays head on :)

As a former Girl Scout leader in southwest Colorado I have to tell you about our version of camping.    To earn the outdoor and camping badges we had to work on them during the spring.  That is when we always get the most snow, melting snow and mud.  So our entire area of western Colorado would camp together for a weekend.  They would close down the Grand Junction shopping mall.  Each troop would get 1 or 2 storefronts as their campsite.  (Depending on troop sizes)  Lots of the food and candy stores would stay open all night.  We always all had a blast.    Whenever I see Troop Beverly Hills it makes me think of oour camping trips (They stayed in a luxury hotel!)
