Title: Can you sense when someone is lying to you?

How do you know when a person is lying to YOU?

For the most part I can't tell; but I no longer accept what someone tells me as true.  I think to myself "maybe"...    after speaking to someone.  Maybe it's accurate; maybe it's not.   Only time will tell and sometimes not even then.

When someone is telling me something and they are nervous, fidgety, don't make eye contact or otherwise appear as though they want to be somewhere else, I'm pretty certain they are lying.  Even if they are doing one of the things mentioned, I think they're lying.  Many times I've caught people in a lie because I already know the truth about the situation  Then I usually bust them. Then after that I have no more dealings with them.

I was about to post a very similar comment.  Sometimes, liars are so convincing they have mastered the technique and are undetectable, but your instinct is rarely wrong.  I have broken off relationships based on instincts and was told I was sooooo wrong for doing so without proof.  I don't need to touch the sun to know it'll burn my hand.

Excellent point about the sun.  I love the analogy.  And you are so very right.  Why experience something that you know is wrong or will hurt you when you already know it will.  There's a nice Bible verse mentioning that the wrong acts committed by individuals are warning examples for us.  We need not commit the same wrong act.

no one can sense a lie but most of the time you can tell by someones actions as in the movements but its not 100% or like the lie detector 99.99% but its i think about 80 - 95% (more or less its ben awhile)

Touching their face before replying to you is a basic indicator.  When we lie, blood rushes to our face and it's instinctive that we touch our face in reaction.

Generally I can't tell.  I try to have an open mind so I'm not the one who eventually passes the untruth on.

I don't know how to explain it.  But usually I can tell.  But you cannot always tell by actions or the voice or anything else.  People are distracted a lot of times or have other things on their mind so that may make it sound like they are lying.  I recently had a job interview and did not get the job.  I talked to the guy and asked a question about what I was doing wrong because I was having a hard time finding something and I could tell over the phone he was lying to me.  I just could.  It irritates me when someone looks me in the eye and lies to me though.

I just answered a post about this. You need to be attentive ti their actions. Watch their body language and always look in their eyes. They are a dead give away.
