It is national preparedness month... What have you done or plan to do to prepare for emergencies (weather, war, etc.)?

I had no idea that there was a National Preparedness month so this is in September or October?  Its hard to be prepared when you are barely surviving right now I don't have enough for each month so to prepare I don't have extra anything.  I wish I could be more prepared than I am now.

I had no idea there was a month for this.  I haven't really done much at all.  I have a few canned goods but that's about it.

This year I had a little bigger garden so I've taught myself how to can my produce.  It's been fun so far.

On the work front, sounds like this was an appropriate month as me and my team thoroughly prepared for our big multi-day presentation with a new client and it went very well.  All items were signed of and the customer is feeling very confident and positive about our building the project.

I have started an emergency kit to grab in case of needing to go to a shelter or evacuate the house.  I also have lots of batteries, a couple of lanterns, and tons of candles in case the electricity goes out in a storm.  I try to keep bottled water on hand to ride out interruption of our water supply.
