....a zip car....They are offered in Washington, D.C. I guess you register with them proving you have a driver's license. You receive a "zip card". You go to "stations" where the zip car
will be parked,, swipe your zipcard on the windshield and drive off.
"wheels when you want them" as the ad says.

I read something about that the other day but don't really understand how it works.

Well that is kind of odd. I have never heard of this. And don't really understand how it works. Maybe kind of like a rental deal?
-
Have heard of this (on the radio) but don't know much about it. Seems to be a growing trend in areas where a lot of people don't have a car.
-
That's too crazy! Of course, they may screen people before giving them a zip card, at least I would hope so.

They have this in the San Francisco area, it's pretty common there. There was a Groupon for $90 to use the service. It's a rental service to just drive around the city in a smart car. There is a GPS on the car so they know where it is 24/7. It's a good service, like public transportation. They have this same concept for bicycles too.

I have never heard of this either, it sounds odd to me.
-
I've only seen them when I do the video's but they sound great... I wish they had them in Nebraska...
-
Sound like it would be good if you were visiting someplace.

Never heard of this before, but I live in a small town. But I know if I lived in a big city I would try that, might be cheaper on your part if you don't need a car all the time.

I've heard of these but never had a chance to try them. I think they're a great idea in theory. But I imagine the danger of theft may be high. Though perhaps I'm wrong.
