Title: skipping breakfast
Post by: Gerianne on November 09, 2014, 08:48:02 am
a friend of mine is moving in a couple days. She said she "won't have time" for breakfast before the movers come.
I just commented that she would need her energy for such a day's event!

Not a good idea. It is the most important meal of the day. Even if it is just something light, don't skip it. Get your morning start-up.

Breakfast should never, ever be skipped because it not only gives you energy in the morning but it really does  set the tone for how and when you eat the rest of the day.  I never skip breakfast!!

Whenever I have a lousy breakfast it throws off my whole day. I actually end up eating more and with a headache. She could try some instant oatmeal. It's quick and more filling than cereal.

Skipping breakfast doesn't do a mind and body good because eating breakfast gives you the energy to start your day.

make time for it.It is the most important meal of the day. Breakfast gets you started  with fuel for the day. Supper is the meal aha should be cut down or monitored. Skipping meals si not so good for the metabolism. BMaston12

In the mornings, if I am going somewhere, I will always eat breakfast or a snack. If I am staying home, I sometimes skip breakfast.

I have never been able to eat breakfast early in the morning - even when I was a child.  My siblings were the same way.  I don't know why.

I never skip breakfast.  That is the meal that gets you going with energy.  I usually prepare a fruit smoothie for breakfast which is filling.

I think breakfast is very important, even just 1 toast of bread made my tummy feel better. I`ll dizzy if I don`t eat anything especially breakfast.

She may just go with the flow of the day, but after all the excitement she might get too hungry. I'm a notorious breakfast skipper so I can't say much. (-:

i rarely eat a "full breakfast" anymore. I did when i was a kid and in school and such but not really any more. I have coffee and a banana or sometimes maybe a yogurt. But my coffee is a must. I think I might have just gotten used to not eating breakfast because my energy level is fine and im not hungry during the day..well not any more or any less than with / without breakfast.

However, if my husband doesnt eat breakfast in the morning his whole day is screwed up lol and he gets cranky because he gets way to hungry.

I try not to skip breakfast.  This is suppose to be the most important meal of the day.  It keeps you from overeating on the wrong types of food.

It depends what you eat for breakfast.  A healthy breakfast is certainly a great thing and can be considered the most important meal of the day.  But the average breakfast eaten by most Americans...yeah I think it would be perfectly fine to skip.

even if there's no time for breakfast, there should be at least something in your stomach to start the day with. like a banana or a granola bar

I eat breakfast sometimes in the mornings, but most of the time I don't have time for breakfast, so I eat a snack bar to tide me over until lunch

Breakfast is a very important meal, but some morning I don't have an appetite so I'd grab something light like a yogurt on the go.

I often just make some sort of a smoothie, with fruit, milk, ice.  It is filling and tastes good.  Since it is a shake I make it then sip while I get dressed for the day.

There is so many options for breakfast, even for people on the go. There isn't too much excuse to skip something as critical as breakfast even if the person needs to be relegated to eating breakfast/nutrition bars (at least that is something).
