How do you handle your toddler tantrums?
-
Good question. I have a 5-year old that needs an attitude adjustment towards my husband and I. He is okay at school but really talks back towards us. As far as tantrums, don't cave in. Maybe ignore it.

I've always heard that when they're throwing their little fits, you should walk away and pay no attention. The more attention given, the worse the tantrum gets. Just make sure while they're thrashing about the place that there's nothing in the way that they can hurt themselves with. I know... it's a hard thing to do and watch. My niece went through this stage and boy, was it horrible!

Some good advice.......
Prov 22:6.......Train up a boy according to the way for him; even when he grows old he will not turn aside from it.

I am so thankful my children did not have tantrums.. But if the got into an argument when small I made them set on the couch and hold hands. Oh I was a terrible mother. But as they grew into fine young men they were the best of friends. I have watched girls and boys throw such awful tantrums , I felt awful for their parents until I realized . I mean the kids would lay on the floor and kick and scream. Boy I wanted to just jerk them up and set them straight. they put up with it. Then I would have just walked out of the building and put them in the car and went home.
did my kids that were when they misbehaved. I lived 97 miles away. Took only once.

Its hard but I ignore them as long as were not in a public place and then when they calm done I talk to them about it.

Best thing to do is ignore it! My 8 yr old thinks he can still take a tantrum and get away with it. Not happening with me! My husband on the other hand is a softy and should be kicked in the arce as well! lol :)
