I am sure most of you know Nexium treats acid reflux and recently i have heard it can be purchased over the counter.
Has anyone tried it and if so what results have you gotten?
Thanx in advance.

I don't use any 'over the counter' anything for digestive system problems. I drink peppermint tea and ginger tea because they both do amazing things for me.
Good luck finding something that works well for you.

My doctor has me on the generic prilosec, which is the same family of drug as Nexium. They are both PPI's. I wouldn't take them unless you have been diagnosed with GERD or LPR and a doctor has told you to take them.

When it was still a prescription - I was prescribed this years ago for stomach issues. Nexium gave me horrible abdominal pain. I had to quit using it because this medication brought me to my knees in pain. I use prilosec instead.

Works well with my acid reflux for well over a day.

My doctor once gave me some samples of Nexium to take. I didn't really see any difference of the generic one. But I notice that I was getting really bad stomach aches and after a year o so I finely told my doctor and he said it was the medication for my stomach and he told me not to take it anymore I feel better now.

I thank those that have chimed in so far and any future comments.
It seems there is some mixed reaction here.I have been taking extra strength Pepcid over the counter.I paid $20 for 50 pills at CVS.
Pepcid seems to work ok for me but it doesnt last all day and i dont wanna take more than 1 pill per day.
I hate swallowing pills too and letting Pepcid melt in my mouth isnt as bad a taste as some other pills.
Thanx again.
