Is this a big deal or is it being severely overblown?
-
I watched a news item the other day that gave a whole list of politicians, both Democrats and Republicans, that have used their own personal email addresses for all their emails.
-
I have not heard the entire story. Personally, I do not care. I don't care what she does, what she did, or what the hype is all about. 97% of it is just media trying to get something stirred up. I am surprised they did not say she emailed a "black man" just to get a racial fight started. They seem to love doing that.

It's a big deal. Your government is lying to you. These elected officials are supposed to represent you. They are all corrupt.
-
Its a very big deal, she was using her personal e-mail address to send and receive government work and also personal. First of all government work should be recorded and available at all times to the homeland security. Are we paying her for personal use or is she and if we are then she should not have been using government computers for her personal use. Now it has all been deleted (why) She is lying to cover her bu** just like Obama and his blackberry. Our government is messing with us.

This is way overblown, the amount of government employees who use only one account is like about 70%. (They said the exact number but I was not really listening) It is also perfectly legal to do it this way. As countyrgirl12 said,

BIG DEAL for sure!! I don't feel you can believe a single word that comes out of her mouth. Her past, as well as Bill Clinton's has always been a series of lies and deceit to all. I cannot believe she would still consider running for President and would be horrified if she got elected.
-
Hard to say for sure. Do politicians lie...yes, but then again so does the media. It is a, who to believe, type situation. I do have trouble believing it was an innocent mistake though. As long as she has been in politics she definitely would know that something like using a personal email for the job is not ok.

It is a VERY big deal! Even if other government employees use only 1 e-mail account, she was the Secretary of State at the time, which has much stricter regulations governing use of e-mail accounts due to the sensitivity of some of the information that the Sec. of State is privy to. Even from a non-legal point-of-view, keeping government e-mail on a personal server prevents transparency and is a way around the Federal Freedom of Information Act, which is the people's way of keeping tabs on our government officials. And when you think that President Obama's campaign boasted that his would be the most transparent administration!
@plennis: It is NOT perfectly legal; in fact what she did may be a felony. When a federal employee leaves their office, they are to relinquish all government correspondences both classified and unclassified to the records office for archival. And the leaving person also signs a form of separation that acknowledges that the person has done so. So if she signed this form saying that she has turned over all government records in her possession, but in fact did not do so, she is now in contempt which is a felonious offense.

Yes, they are all corrupt. And yes, they are lying to us. But who she emails, to me, is not a big deal.

I thought she used her work email to send personal emails. And pretty much everyone does personal stuff on their work computers.

lol. What's the difference in her and the rest of them. Most of the government officials have committed crimes that are felonies. They get away with it because of who they are.

Exactly!!

she'll get away with something else just because the democrats want her to run for president.
-
:) It is a big deal. Our officials are elected and work for us. They need to be forthright and open because they are working for America. She has not been truthful in past history. :)
-
Not a big deal to me.
-
It's not a big deal, but it's funny how they can not find the rest of emails she deleted. When we delete something it stays in our computer but not for her. That's funny! :confused1:

So we should continue to look the other way because everyone is doing it?
No. Bust them all, whatever political party they are affiliated with, because political parties really no longer exist for the people. There is no such thing as Republican or Democrat any longer, they all are put in office by corporations & are looking after the best interest of the corporation. They are supposed to be public servants, they are failing.

It all matters. I do not trust the gov. I do not know why I even gave them a hint of trusting them.
