Title: The Word Twit
Post by: ambee1018 on August 04, 2009, 10:07:35 am
I was listening to the radio the other morning and they were discussing the word TWIT and i have used this word and so have probably most of you out there. Now the "new " or what ever you want to call it meaning to this word is an older woman in her 30 th that goes out to have fun party and likes to be with younger men bc shes confident and is career oriented. go figure hahaha.

I thought twit meant like stupid, or something along those lines.
I read a book once called The Twits... i'm pretty sure it wasn't about 30 something women and their careers. Haha

Heh!  The word I usually associate with that definition is "cougar".  I giggle ever time I hear the word "twit".  ^^  My fiance's mother uses it a lot when referring to her female pugs.

I also thought a woman in that definition was a cougar. Go figure. I cannot keep up with the lingo!!

Gawd, I feel like such a twit. (LOL).............the lingo changes over time i guess, like everything does.....look at the word "gay" - 70 years ago it meant to be "happy" or "excited" but today it means something totally different.  It just shows how times change I guess........and by the way, Marie Osmond is two yars older then I am, maybe I could be HER "twit" (LoL)  :bootyshake:

Words and meaning sure have changed.  What about the word *bleep*?  It used to mean a cigarette and now you all know what it means.  Things are sure changing.

I love using the word twit in conjunction with various fake British accents (English, Scottish, Irish, it's funny anyway) and people always laugh. ;D
