Title: Never Ending Surveys?
Post by: bitterlily on May 04, 2015, 07:06:02 pm
How do you know when you've encountered a never-ending survey? Do you give yourself a time limit on completion?

I was doing a survey for $0.75 in between doing some other stuff. I then spent a full half concentrating on the survey, which required detailed, repetitive answers. I looked at the clock and realized I spent almost 2 hours off and on with this survey. I thought it was almost over, then it switched subjects to something different.  :( I threw it back, but I'm kinda mad since I spent so much time on it and I think it was only supposed to take 15 minutes. Next time I will just go the recommended time on the survey and give up if it takes longer.  :-\

That sounds like a survey I did on another site tonight. The invitation said 15 minutes, but it took 90 minutes. It took so long I didn't have time to try any surveys here.

Well I have an invitation to do one that will pay me $2.00 for 96 minutes which I will not make no matter what that is too much time for that amount of money and sometimes it cuts you off in the middle or it does not pay

Sometimes they do seem very repetitive and silly. I think they get the information they want and then just drag you out so you will quit.

yes they get the information you want then try to get you to let them look for another survey for you. so you don't even get the penny. we work hard for our money here. that is why I developed the attitude not to spend more than 2 hours here 4 days a week. cause if your going to earn here its in the first hour.

I would be careful of taking all those breaks doing surveys. Many will kick you out for going over the acceptable time limit.

All surveys will eventually end. There are some that I just give up on because I get bored of the repetitiveness but the majority I go to the end.

I have had surveys like that both on Fusion Cash as well as other sites. They go on and on. They do not ever seem to end. To make it worse, these are the very surveys that are difficult, repetitive, boring and it goes on and on and on.

It is impossible to detect when a survey will be much longer than stated but most are reasonable length when it is all said and done.

I've done surveys like that where it says 15 min and its almost 45 min later and I'm just now finishing it. I feel like they keep asking the same questions over and over.

That situation occur a lot. The survey may say that it will take 15 minutes, and then when you click on it , the survey will take between 20 and 25 minutes. Also, with surveys most of them will take longer than the time indicated.

I agree about not taking breaks between doing a survey. Try to finish it in one sitting, although I can understand being frustrated about spending that much time attempting a survey. Even if a survey says I can come back if I need to and finish, I always complete a survey in one sitting. If I had to do a survey that took that long, I would hope the incentive would be worth it.

I can't say that I've ever done a survey that took 2 hours, or even 90 minutes.  First off, I look to see how much the survey is paying, second of all I watch to see how long they say the survey will take.  If I find that neither one of those two factors are in my best interest, out it goes.  They would have to pay a decent amount of money for me to sit at my computer for 2 hours on ONE survey.  Most of the time, they don't.  I try to stick with the surveys that are a reasonable amount of time - 15-20 minutes.  Anything over that needs to pay more than 50 cents, and 30 minutes or more needs to be more than .75 cents.  If they don't value the time I have to put in to the survey, I walk away.  I'm just not that desperate for a quarter.

I get those surveys too. It is very aggravating repeating everything. :monkey:

I've had similar surveys like this and they are very frustrating. I usually can push through, there's only been one I gave up on and I was able to finish it somehow the next day when I logged back on. They are so draining and after I will usually just get off of my laptop for the day. I know that they want to be sure you're not just making things up and that's why a lot of the questions repeat, but after 3 or 4 times of the same thing it just gets ridiculous.

I actually had that happen to me just this morning on another survey site.  The survey was fun but I didn't see an end in sight.  The fact that there was no progress graph letting me know where I was did not help.

Thankfully I was able to complete it and get credit but for a while, I was wondering.

For me, I like to pay attention to the time frame I'm working with and try to stick to that.  Of course that's not what I did this morning. LOL

If a survey starts to take way too much time, I have cut them off in the past.  There are so many shorter, easy to navigate surveys available.  I'd much rather spend a little time hunting for them.

the times given are only approximations, not exact times...some will take longer for some people than it will for others..that being said, I've never had one that went over an hour, but I don't do anything else while doing the survey... if you are doing other things as well then you should also factor that into the time it is taking to complete surveys

Since you mention it, I have clicked on surveys that stated it will be 15 minutes, then I am informed that the survey will be 20 to 25 minutes if I qualify. Then after I qualify and complete the survey it may take 30 to 35 minutes.

What has really peeved me off lately is that over the last 5-6 weeks I have taken and COMPLETED 4-5 surveys that didn't land on the Peanuts payment page, instead skipping right by it. And you know what happened don't you?  I didn't get paid. If that keeps happening, that's a serious problem. Peanuts needs to be accountable...and I think Fusion needs to let them know that they have to be accountable in these instances. Fix it or don't have it on site! It's downright fraudulent to take a person's time, efforts, and opinions, and then not pay the documented incentive.

I find this happens a lot if you get disqualified for the initial survey.  It seems they will redirect you thru several different surveys without telling you which they are, so you can end up on 2hr survey from a 5 min survey link

It only seems long if I have been sitting too long at one time.
